There is nothing as difficult as policing demented pple. The issue here is that we are faced with a demented enemy who believes killing innocent civilian is killing Kuffar and its a service to God...

Passing thru jamia mosque you will notice the sense of security for they know they cant be attacked by the mujaheddins. Our muslim brothers are letting us down by living everything to the security agencies while they know those involved in this terrorist attacks live among them.

One thing for sure this attacks are making this country aware of how vulnerable we are from Islamic fundamentalist. We have nurtured this groups thinking that they wuld not turn on us, but as the Nazis were, we are now facing their wrath.

Our freedoms are about to be in danger since fighting this groups require some degree of intrusion into our privacy i.e monitoring our communications(bugging) and sometime freedom of movement and association will be affected.

We are at war and everyone will be affected by this war.

Quite encouraging that many of us know the root of the problem and are suggesting solutions to the same. I may not support Israel in all its actions but you have to admire how Israel government treat a loss of one of their own! They can declare a full fledged war on that account only. The preamble of our constitution recognizes our sovereignty and when i hear people cry human rights (those killed, maimed are no less human too) at the expense of our national security...i just pity.
>>Close down ANY further trickle of refugees and seriously vet the existing one. Return them to their respective countries, as most are unnecessary burden to our resources.
>>The entire security system should not only be vigilant but also pre-emptive in nature
>>Unforgiving laws for the perpetrators of terrorism acts
>>Above all, good neighborhood and patriotism. You are Kenyan and when the country burns, you bound to loose as well. When you act "innocently" as a middleman or a link to help that unknowingly bad guy acquire a passport or ID, a housing etc without questioning, you are as guilty as anyone else

The four kidnapped aid workers have been rescued....One shabaab despatched to his maker by our Mboys (KDF)......I'll agree with many here....Time to shut down those refugee camps and relocate them 1000 kms from the nearest border (Even if that lands them in the middle of Indian ocean). It's no good being nice to this people.
Nothing great was ever achieved without enthusiasm.

@254

The only problem with those solutions is that the attackers are Kenyans.

You see Majengo Youth centre recruited many thugs from majengo...I heard a story of how they transformed known gangsters who were being trailed by the police and were on police hit-list.These thugs are now top militants in alshabab kenyan wing. They indoctrinated these thugs and they are now more dangerous then Somali alshababs...They know they have no future once alshabab crumbles so they will resort to anything to maintain their now 'carefree' lifestyle.

I have followed most tweets from @mycpress they are full of hate for non muslims they had posted some videos showing how they recruited Kenyans to their cause unless we pacify Somalia and apprehend the top Kenyan commanders No amount of police patrol will end this attacks.

INTELLIGENCE IS KEY.

I wonder what Iteere's preliminary investigations reveal? Perhaps "an electrical fault".

I am also in support of relocating the camp to Somalia asap. We already know the problem, we know the solution, all that remains is to execute it.

As a Kenyan, I feel so bad about these senseless murders. At this point, I think what we need to do is to take stock of the situation and come up with strategies that can work in defeating these attacks. It is obvious that the objective of targeting worshipers is to undermine civilian backing of the KDF mission in Somalia. We should also realize that the enemy has sympathizers in Kenya and is also capitalizing on rampant corruption especially in the Kenyan police force for it to be able to carry out these attacks. Worse still, most Kenyans are ignorant when it comes to security issues.

One key thing that we need to do is to educate all our people (perhaps using the media) on how to be alert and vigilant about the perpetrators of these attacks. Our internal security apparatus also needs to wake up and a do better job in terms of information gathering and processing. The Kenyan Muslims and also the Somali communities are important assets that we could use to defeat these buggers. They can play a crucial role in surveillance and infiltration. We also need to dish out harsher punishments for corrupt police officers. It is a tragedy that despite rampant corruption in our police force being an open secret, the bosses have refused to acknowledge this. Just my thoughts.

I agree with Selah,

This is sad. Muslims do not support these attacks.

@Kimiri you've spoken very well Applause

Let us all condem killing of innocent. Let us also maintain that the war on terror is not a war on Islam or on Muslims.

However, there are still those who are involved in the war on terror but have not overcome their suspicion and mistrust of Muslims.
They need to change their perception and turn Muslims into Partners in the war on terror.

Religious war?

@guka there is a great misconception as far as Jihad in Islam is concerned.
This misconception is not only among the non-Muslims, even among the Muslims.

They think that any war faught by any Muslim, for any reason, whether for person gain, whether be fame, whether be for money.
Jihad does not mean any war faught by Muslim.
Jihad comes from the Arabic word Jahada, which means to strive, to struggle.
In Islamic context it means to strive against ones own evil inclinations.
It also means to strive to make the society better.
It also means to strive in the battle field for self defense.
It also means to fight against tirant opression.

Jihad basically means to strive, it means to struggle.

Jihad is not terrorism:
It is to be emphasized that terrorism against the innocent civilians, whether through aggression or suicidal means, is under no circumstances permissible in Islam.

Islam encourages the oppressed people to struggle for their liberation and it commands other Muslims to help those who are oppressed and suffering.

But Islam does not allow, under any circumstance, terrorism against non-combatants and innocent people.

Terrorism is not Jihad
Terrorism is Fasad (mischief).
It is against the teachings of Islam.
There are some people who use their twisted arguments to justify terrorism for their causes, but it has no justification.
God says: Quran chapter 2:11-12: When it is said to them: 'Make not mischief on the earth,' they say: 'Why, we only want to correct things.' Indeed they are the mischief doers, but they realize (it) not.

Kenyan police are stranded with a terror suspect and Swiss national after his country refused to take him because of his links with the Islamist rebels in Somalia.

“Clear evidence shows that he visited regions of Somalia where jihadist groups are involved in conflict (against the government). It also appears that he had contact with Islamist elements in Switzerland.”

On Monday, seven officers from Scotland Yard’s Counter Terrorism Command are expected in the country to hunt for a British woman linked to the June 24 attack at Jericho Beer Garden in Mombasa where three people were killed in a grenade attack and scores injured last Sunday.

Samantha Lewthwaite, 28, is wanted for possessing explosives and conspiring to make bombs.

Police statistics show an increase of the number of foreigners flocking to Kenya seeking to join the Al Shabaab terror group.

There is more than meets the eye.
