Wp is better due to the large number of plugins available. The support is also huge from the millions of users in the free system.

When it comes to optimization, wordpress is the best to use. But I would advice you buy your own domain name and web hosting where you can have full control of your site. By the way, people will not take you serious with free blogs like blogspot, especially if you want to make money online.
