funnny how kenyans suffer from collective amnesia. we started our won troubles after the elections- rapes, murders, looting, arson etc and could not contain that violence and sought for outside help. the minute we allowed kofi annan to step on our soil to help us put off our fires,is the day the 'world' stepped in. kofi annan succeeded and the principals signed a contract. annan aka 'world' is just here to prefect what was signed. the world would not like to see kenya turned into another failed banana republic like somalia. they have invested heavily in kenya and don't want to see their investment go up in smoke. strategically, kenya is also too important to collapse. remember our violence greatly affected the east african region as a whole negatively. there's also lack of proper leadership at the top and that's why moi and foreign ambassadors have stepped in to fill that void. kibaki's laid back 'hands off' approach doesn't seem to work with our errant and corrupt ministers. the old man needs to crack the whip and see reforms are implemented for the sake of this nation. america-read obama- would not like to see 2007 chaos repeated in 2012,as the US president would stand accused of neglecting his roots. if the armageddon comes knocking in 2012,at least obama have the moral authority to say 'i warned you' but you didn't listen. and since we are inclined to the west and international community having signed various agreements with them,we have to live in manners acceptable to them, otherwise shove out of the membership list of civilised democracies and kiss goodbye all the grants, loans, aid and any other support.
my 2 cents worth.
