Lamu properties

Hi all,

i seek information on viable investment properties in Lamu [plots]. I am not so familiar with the place and i would much appreciate some help on prime locations.

The timing though early is not right let me say "too early". This is because, the politics of land at the moment are still "volatile" and speculators are viewed with suspicion by locals and at the same time a few locals are on the look out for people like you to cheat early. If you recall the LAPSSET noises you will appreciate this.

Most important though is the fact that most of the land in Lamu does not have title and only a few people have these papers.My advise would be if you can hold on scout early but hold any commitments and serious dealings.

I have witnessed prices in lamu double from 800k to 1.8M near the port in kitu 6 months, yes you can wait but i doubt it will be affordable.There are 7 settlement schemes in lamu and they all have titles,avoid land without titles,most of the title holders aint locals anyway. I think lamu is a viable investment if u buy near the port(Hindi Magogoni) or near the proposed airport (Muhamarani).
