Loss by Netherlands to Denmark makes group B quite interesting. Now let us wait for Portugal Vs Germany.

that last goal by messi was fantastic. if only he continues to replicate his club form for country. i think argentina finally have a solid enough squad to challenge for the world cup.
i think portugal deserved a point. germany werent all that

I don't think it's easy to win any cup competition in a row so I'll rule out the Spanish even though they'll be a tough act. I'm going with the Germans but I'll know more dedinfitely after the group stage matches and the possible pairing up in the quarters and semis. I'm seeing Portugal as the first big casualties - that group of death will surely be their death coz I don't fancy them beating ze Germans or The Dutch

I agree with this analysis...I dont see the spaniards going far despite their superb cream of players.I see a new winner this time..one which has not won the Euro before...despite their first match loss againis the danes,if netherlands reorganise themselves they could go all the way to the top...a second team to watch is Russsia..

It was a very experienced Argentine side playing against Olympics bound Brazil. Personally I was very impressed by the young Brazilian guns.

Sorry to digress.

The Germany-Portugal game wasn't all that as both teams kept cancelling each other out. A draw was more likely but vile huyo Gomez aliweka kichwa, that was class.

Ma Fans!!!!

Great to have some football back.

For me the most exciting game was Spain vs Italy, very even and end to end, couldn't take my eyes off it for a minute. Del Bosque's decision to start with no real striker was vindicated - what a pass from Silva for the Cesc equalizer. But equally good was the pass from Pirlo to Di Natale...I'm amazed the way he (Pirlo) has rolled back the years...for me he was man of the match for the Italians. And I agree man of the match for the Spanish was Casillas with Iniesta a close second - Casillas is really a match winning goal keeper with the saves he pulled. Mario once again proved enfant terrible`, getting worked up and then pulling off some magic moves to beat Ramos then irritatingly take too long to pull the trigger!

Croatia were impressive against the Irish and the Danes worked hard to keep off the Dutch. With those results, I have a feeling we'll see one of the big guns unexpectedly not make it to the 2nd round, I have a feeling it could be the Dutch or Spanish.

Portugal once again proved they don't have the mettle for the big stage, they could have pulled off a draw if their striker had not finished off the Germans with only Neuer to beat with the last kick of the game!

I'm sticking with the Germans for now with France and the Russians as the dark horses though am yet to see France play against England.

But for sure one big team (other than Portugal) will be bundled off in the group stage.

I just hope that team is England ..overhyped, at least am with you on the Germans especially with their efficiency, without bloated and egocentric names.

The spanish duo of iniesta and xavi were truly missing the services of messi..As for italy, they played a truly solid game..felt bad for balotelli though..after missing some great chances,he was substituted only for the sub to score three minutes later...
