Yet again KES is popping up on the worst currency performing list...

Quote:

The shilling depreciated 3.5 percent last month, making it the sixth-worst performer among African currencies, according to data compiled by Bloomberg.

Tbills (182 & 364 day) reversing the 5 month downtrend... The inverted yield curve period is refusing to go away...

So NSE up and tbill yields looking to go up as well as KES gaining strength. Eh, someone is lying big time. Guess who?

Anyway I hope the EURKES keeps tanking. Now at 105 & looking lower. Exports to euroland getting crimped by strong KES. What will that do to the BoP? I'm liking the confusion on imports vs exports. Another round of smashing the KES is in horizon as the econ bleeds. KES is supposed to be weak as per fundies, but money lords force it to be strong...

smilesmile Rainmakers were hired and did their job, but someone's sleeping at the deck. We will compare notes Dec 2012.

Buy euros and convert them to KES by Dec 2012.

Last year technicals were used to preserve fundamentals. This year fundamentals are restoring looking to relieve technicals. Your thinking seems to have remained static and that is why I fear for you smile

I understand that U wish Kenya better like being engaged in sophisticated export trade (we shall get there-promise!) with the now troubled world (that U operate in) but fortunately & at this point, the majority of us are still farmers and rain is a big deal as far as our productivity & livelihoods are concerned. smile smile

PS: My favorite commodity, milk has come off 5 bob to 40 and I'll be damned if that had nothing to do with rain, which led to increased pasture, hence, increased milk production and culminated in good old demand & supply economics smile

So cde unaonaje? Clearly kes is under pressure and its a matter of time before it gives in.I think Hisahs idea of buying the euro for a dec/12 sale is on point.
What's your opinion...do you believe cbk ama the rain will stop the kes erosion?

indeed things are Bad for KES . cbk did a 'good' job though as we didnt make a new recent low for the kes but with the 61.8% fib level holding as of close of Friday i would expect new lows to be challenged .Look at below chart
obviously a move above 88 will be bad for the local currency

you can also look at it as the below diagram is showing we are in a congestion area . what that means is that price doesn't have a direction. ans when we breakout of either of the red lines i expect some volatility ( huge price movements).
this are just the different scenarios that would play out !

The US debt ceiling & possible round of another US downgrade as well as their elections. I prefer the euro since all bets are so one-sided waiting for a collapse! Onesided trades are dangerous business in ponzinomics since the ponzi masters change the rules oftenly wrong footing the pile up.
