For me it has to be a big name...small names and big clubs don't rhyme, but that's just me... I'm sure the board/management has been working on a succession plan for years. It's only that it has never been made public! SAF is not just your ordinary Manager, he commands respect from the Board, fans, Media, Players and the FA....his departure from the club will have an impact on Man Utd regardless of who comes in (especially if he's not British). Whoever comes in will always be compared to SAF and might not even be there for more than 2 seasons. Besides that the club will also have to spend a lot of money to secure a top Manager especially if they are already in another club...at the moment hata Wenger earns more than SAF yet he's not won anything since 2005. I think SAF wants someone who has worked for/with Man Utd before to replace him, probably Solskjaer. Man Utd do not have rich oil owners so they need such sponsorship deals to survive (same goes for Arsenal). http://www.bbc.co.uk/news/business-17116060

A surprise coming up from Fergie in the transfer market. You wont see this one coming. I can't say more. I need to place some bets with some bookie first! I might just get 50 to 1 on this one! Never count on making a good sale. Have the purchase price be so attractive that even a mediocre sale gives good returns.

@ Dossy7......I believe Wenger is still in the market for more players although most potential targets have decided to postpone any transfer business till after the Euros. I don't think we can compete with Chelsea and Man City in the transfer market. There are reports linking Arsenal to Barca's Afellay, Cuenca, Dempsey, Doumbia, Kalou, De Jong, M'Villa (who might miss the Euros) , Giroud, Ahmedov (never heard of him) and even Real's Nuri Sahin. It seems Le Prof wants a DM and CAM or another striker, we might end up signing players no one has ever heard of and there's also the possibility of not signing anyone else.
As for the other clubs its more or less the same story, its being reported that Man City are about to sign Bilbao's defender Javi Martinez. They are also interested in Inter's Sneijder and of course RVP. Porto's Hulk has already expressed he 's desire to leave with Chelsea as his likeliest destination. Fulham's Dembele is also interested in a move to Stamford Bridge according to the agent.
As for Man Utd, it doesn't get easier for them in the transfer market. They had been linked with a move for Valencia's Jordi Alba but Barcelona are now the favourites for the Spaniards's signature. They've made inquiries for Modric, Tiote and Baines but SAF has refused to meet their valuations. They are also interested in Ghana's Kwadwo Asamoah but its being reported that Juventus are scheduled to open talks with the player. Kagawa's transfer hit a snag after he was denied a work permit.....apparently he has played in less than 75% of internationals in the past three years. Man Utd will of course appeal the decision and call for a permit on the grounds of 'exceptional talent', Arsenal did the same thing last season with Miyaichi. Nani is also pondering exit from the club despite being offered a new contract.
On a more positive note, the red devils look like the favourites to sign Crewe Alexandra's Nick Powell though I've never seen him play before.......he's in very high demand, Arsenal and Chelsea were also interested. Benfica's Gaitan is also an option for SAF.

Benfica's Gaitan is also an option for SAF. I saw him in the highlights of the match that saw Crew qualify to the championship - he scored a wonder goal, set up his own volley like the way Adebayor did against Spurs sometime back when he was still a gooner - just seasrch for it on Youtube. Other than that I haven't seen him play but he comes highly rated and such a signing should compensate for losing Pogba. BEER IS LIVING PROOF THAT GOD LOVES US AND WANTS US TO BE HAPPY!

Man U have finally captured Kagawa. A very good signing for them in the AM position. http://uk.eurosport.yaho...nnounce-kagawa-deal.htmlWhen I admire the wonder of a sunset or the beauty of the moon, my soul expands in worship of the Creator.
