why would you want a car that removes fire from the ass??

He is probably tired of building roads (and wants to now burn them) or tired of clearing and forwarding cars (and wants to now burn them) or it is simply a change in career aspiration from the above two to a teenager.

Subarus are great cars but their interiors suck. The parts start falling off without any prompting and the door handles peel off leaving that ugly white stuff that soon takes up the brown from hands opening and closing the doors. the aging is what puts me off Subarus but the speed, handling and stability on tarmac are great. If you ever venture off road then Subarus are not for you

It is very misleading to say that car X would out run car Y unless you qualify that statement.

From memory, A naturally aspirated 2L would typically have from 135 - 155 bhp. E.g. the Y2002 Subaru Forester 20X + the Subaru Legacy TX have 137 bhp, Subaru Legacy TS-R - 155 bhp, Premio 2003 G spec or Allion A20 have 155 bhp, Audi A4 2.0 FSI has 148 bhp I think.

They all have different mass and torque ( the premio + audi might have slightly more due to the direct injection technology employed). So 0-60 might be anything from 8.5-10.5 seconds depending the mass, as well as gearbox, size of wheels, terrain, the person in front of the wheel.

For a 2L Subaru with a single turbo would be ~220 bhp. The 2.0L XT's come to mind. Twin turbo ~ 280 bhp

Some further tuning can get that power up to 400 bhp. (at some expense)

At the risk of stoking a fanboy war: I recommend watching this Top Gear episode.
