Sorry guys, none of us Kenyans deserve quality policing at all.
Cops ask for good reliable cars – we give them a few vehicles, with no fuel – in some cases OCS has to get back to their pockets for fueling even basic patrols; .

come on! what the heck are you driving at? eti ocs fuel cop cars from pockets?? haha lol! tell me something, how do the ocs eses end up putting 5 storey flats with a 40k after tax salary (don't even try police sacco) and how is it some constables i know own some very nice motiis (for info they serve as courtoom orderies and in the flying squad). kenya police is rotten to the core; incompentent service! nobody is keeping watch! that's why commish prefers quick solutions like elec fault to attend other pressing matters..you know what i mean!

WORD!!!
at times they even forrce the complainant to fuel their official landcruisers in order to come to your aid....

Problems can get out of proportion, and not only in the wee small hours. Don't let the problems eclipse the Master. Let the Master eclipse the problems.

Utopia mindsets. Too much politics. Iteere is not a politician so don't expect him to play to the public gallery. Minutes after an explosion, the media is on to him and you want him to say comprehensively what the cause was? Too much investigative series you guys have been watching. World over, the governments/security agencies have to calm the public before conducting thorough investigations.

What public was he calming? The public already knew it was a terrorist attack before Iteere spoke. We are at war (this seems so foreign to many people), it is only obvious. He should have stuck to investigations will be conducted to determine the cause of explosion. The public is not as stupid as many people perceive it to be. So now that he said it could have been an electric fault there was less commotion?

I totally agree..infact the current spate of bombings should serve as a wake up call to all Kenyans. We have neglected the security sector for so long.infact we just give the sector a passing glance.Right now there is talk of installling CCTV cameras in Nairobi..the project will cost millions even billions. In as much as they may be useful in fighting crime ,I think they are not a priority. How aobout using that money to improve the police communication system?or to purchase police vehicles,or build more police stations.

take for instance the area in Kiambu known as Banana. It is a large area, densely populated. It is a well known fact that crime levels are rocket high in this area. You know what,it is served by one police station wtih at least 200 police officers. The police station has less than 10 vehicles. How on earth are they expected to serve close to half a million people with such meargre resources.
Therefore instead of needless politicking,we need to somehow force parliament to invest heavily in internal security.

However Iteere must go.He has no idea on how to run the police. As someone noted in the SN yesterday,Maj Gen Ali did a better job .
Hope is not a strategy
