I knw not many wazuans knw abt this field bt those who know, wot should one do with this degree,job seems hard coming along,wot r the alternatives?

You can work in a lab. For research, you can further your studies first or join them as a trainee e.g kemri welcome.
You can alternatively become a medical representative, this is very dynamic and has lots of opportunities. All the best

I'm also looking for internship in actuarial science for a nephew of mine.he has sent applications for internship to many insurance companies and none has responded so far.anyone who knows someone who can assist? he is looking for unpaid internship.pls help.

I think that there are many opportunities, you just have look for them and also be patient. My colleagues who did microbiology at Chiromo are in very diverse fields. One is brewing beer for us at Eabl (using the choicest barley and yeast), another is a pathologist at Kari, another one is working for the UN controlling vectors and diseases at one of the refugee camps, another one is working at Kemri, another one a medical Rep. for a pharmaceutical co., another one is teaching at one of the universities after finishing his masters and another is doing his PhD in microbiology in the US. If you got good grades try applying to US universities for MSc since they have scholarships/studentships especially for science students.

Get a masters and start lecturing. That is where all the money is. The research institutes are so few and far unless you will go to the med reps side of things. But you can visit the Research institutes and look for running projects
