Should not be that insensitive. Guys go there for medical treatment. Do you want our beloved politicians not to seek the best medication there is in the world. How insensitive can you be?

Watu hawana adabu!! Its like kids who are always barging into other people's homes ... This is very bad ...for foreign countries to issue a diplomatic note raising such concerns means these states are absolutely tired of these people. I can see protocol people now in my mind's eye, rolling their eyes .."oh that idiot from Kenya is on a flight coming this way" Kaeni nyumbani! In other countries they send ministry technocrats for these small time conferences.
On a side note, people may or may not like Kibaki, but the man does not have a penchant for jetting all over the place unless its important. I wish the PM and VP can follow his example on this regard.

attended a peter kenneth function during the week and I remember him saying that when the PM or the VP and their entourage travel they spend close to 100m in expenses coz the two always want to out do each other, how true this is I dont know. PK also mentioned that if we could cut unnecessary travel by top and mid level govt. officials coupled with other unnecessary recurrent expenditure then we wouldn't be talking of budget deficits

This matter is embarrassing our country. trips should be well coordinated to enable proper treatment of our officials when they are out there,” Onyonka said.

He said that some Kenyan embassies end up inconvenienced, as they do not have official vehicles to help transport the VIP guests from the airport to their hotels.

What nonsense is all this now? The above claims point out one fact.
These visits are Personal but disguised as official.

one of them was arrested in Egypt last year as he loitered in the capital, Cairo.

ROFLMAO!!! Laughing out loudly Laughing out loudly Laughing out loudly Laughing out loudly Laughing out loudly

I rememeber some-time last year we were meeting some clients in Frankfurt and at the hotel i saw these Kenyan minister with what i would have guessed was his family and some hanger-ons (8 in total) well nothing wrong with taking a holiday but what kept on amusing me is that the hotel had unlimited ice-cream and these guy went for like 5-6 rounds - he was sitted no more than 5 metres from where we were and i could see him gleefully licking his cone one after another!

The greatest danger in times of turbulence is not the turbulence; it is to act with yesterday's logic.
