I entered @18 thinking that purchases by new govt & upsurge of border-border motorbikes would do something significant. But alas! Seem to be making no major strides beyond 20(and/or 22).

@willy.. Take a drive along lusaka road into landhies road...notice all those idle motor bikes and tuktuks.. Tells u business isn't boomin as much as before. Pray that Min of metro and CityCouncil manage to get all matatus out. Otherwise....hold. It will pay in the end. It has a very big edge over c&g. Best u can do is wait for lower prices and buy. Gosh..am becomin a big fan of falling prices!!...Anyway.. CMC is a good buy..as long as status quo remains market wise. So many ignoring it...shareholders or new buyers coz while price is stuck between 17-22.50 since post split(factor into price)..company fundamentals are growin at a faster rate!. This is a keeper!... Hint,Hint mukiha?

Aha! Finally someone saying something nice about my favourite counter! I've always been married to this share. Bought in at 15/-, accumulated and never sold! It is growing cobwebs in my portfolio.

@jammo: I've noticed that the female in your life is having an influence on you. What with the mellow responses you now give, and use of words like Gosh .... ! You are hooked my friend!!

@will.. I think you came in a little late...but just 'a little'.... before the 1:10 split, the share had touched 300. After split,it dropped to the low tens (was even at 12,I think). Then it recovered and is now in the late teens / early twenties...where it should have been in the first place! I wouldn't worry too much about it. For me it's for keeps.

Remember also that FY ends on 30 Sept, audited results should be out before Xmas...when most people are not expecting them!

My small concern regards one Martin Forster; 'gosh' that guy has been group CEO for eons... I remember taking him to task at a shareholders meeting on why the accounts were being done in Kenyan Pounds yes; that long ago!!! [we used to take calculators to the meetings so as to divide figures by 20!]

I think it's time for Martin to retire, but then when I remember what happened to Uchumi after Suresh Shah left,I think again....

i think a hold on this counter is a good bet... rumour has it that they are getting strategic capital injection from the boys down in SA,and although judging form most SA alliances with kenya that almost always fall through(been hearing strange vibe from folks at CFC-Stanbic),more chum if used wisely should mean more profits innit?
