I don't mean to sound rude. Honestly, I really don't.

But what is a 'layman' to do when he reads of studies saying that monkeys perform better than so called professionals? The link was posted here last week.

Certainly brings a different dimension to the phrase 'Monkey Business'

@nikimani,
Another question,
Has the OM equity portfolio ever beaten the market i.e like our stocksmaster?If so,will your customers ever know because the equity price faithfully follows the NSE index and in case you do beat the market and the index is low,the unit price will not be realistic and will be to OM's advantage for those exiting the fund...?

Another query for the unit trust family - why should I pay management fees even when the fund is posting losses?

The money didn't lose itself, did it? Losing money is very hard work and you'll be required to pay for the 'effort'.

I tried unit trusts two years ago (old mutual balanced fund) and i didnt like it coz i did not have enough information about the product. eg in what are they invested in? i tried to research their websites and couldnot know which companies they are invested in etc. i also could not understand the statements they sent me (i blame myself for this) as i did not know the price at which i had bought the units credited to me nor the price at which i could sell the unit if i wanted. there was all this confusion brought by ignorance on my part and i checked out of the unit trust in november last year. now i only invest in individual stocks and money market funds. soon i will try my own hands in the treasury bills. unit trusts are a no go zone for me now.
Keeping it all in the family

@veteran,they did and are very happy lot speculatively waiting to cash in when the time and price is right.unfortunately Some panicked after investing in during high's of ksh.299. and getting out at in the same November ksh.217.now that is the angry lot, its all a matter of timing.

@nikimani please send me the perfomance of your equity fund and bond fund for last 10 years. I have always been interested but info is scanty. sparkly99@ovi.com

Wazua has a knack for chasing away guys!

Where did Centum Investment go to? Crown Berger je? Even Genghis had gone missing for some time after a scandal broke out and people started asking too many questions...
