When presented with a bill of quantities and elevations, and you have to estimate the actual amount of building material needed, how would you go about it in order for you to be able to order from suppliers like cement sand ballast quantities etc.

Any knowledge would be helpful.

BOQ's can be done by a professional called a Quantity Surveyor who at college would have studied Building Economy. An architect or a civil engineer can do the same...so can a good fundi, to an extent.
