Arsenal,Man-U,Chelsea etc etc fans!

I can't understand the fanatical support of a team that is based thousands of miles away.....and that has absolutely no connection/link with you

I am not a football fan anyway...I only watch a few matches during the world cup...if they are aired at Godly hours! But I grew up in Thika and I still have family and friends living there..and every time time I hear that Thika United worn some march,something in me feels very proud...

I recently discovered that Nairobi City Stars is managed by the sports ministry at my church. Suddenly I started getting the same sense of pride when they win a march.

I am very happy to learn that both MY teams are at the top of the premier league.

Now,all you fans of Man-U,Arsenal,Chelsea and the likes; what is it that makes you support these teams. Surely,it can't be the fact that they play good football. If that is the case,then I'd respond that hamuna msimamo!

Mukiha,there is nothing good in Kenyan football,especially the one ran by KFF or FKL,I dont know which is which. I would rather watch and support a match palyed by school boys than waste my time with teams like Harambee stars. Take a listen on what Naggi said over he weekend: Patrick Naggi claimed at the weekend that witchcraft and a Mathare United physiotherapist who visited the team camp on the morning of the match could have negatively influenced the results of the match. http://www.eastandard.ne...mp;j=&m=&d=,and you want us to support this nonsense. Please!!!

I do guess the palyers think like their club officials - spent too much time seeing witchdoctors than practising!

Muhkiha,Neither do i- Uderstand this obsession of people mainly from eastern and central African love for English football and its racists policies. 98% of the African supporter wouldn't even get a visa to enter that country leave alone getting a ticket to watch a match.

I like yourself only watch world cup and especially so when an African teams and Brazil are playing.

Reason why kenyan football is where its is very simple: Institutional decay in the country as a whole in that football administration has been left to be run by crooks only.

Iam reminded that Kenyan football was so good when Matiba run KFF maybe the only non crook to have done so.

Magigi i believe there is talent in our football just like rugby,so we as kenyas should give them a bit of support.

By the way how is Kangemi United performing? that is the only football team i associate myself with.

@Magigi

You raise an interesting point...that you'd rather watch 'a match palyed by school boys than waste my time with teams like Harambee stars'

Do the Kenya secondary schools tournaments attract good [big] crowds? I'm told that in the USA,high school basketball can attract bigger crowds than some NBA matches...

Perhaps this points to the direction we should take....

@wote:

Another thing that ruins Kenyan football is the inclusion of so-called corporate teams in the national league. Yes,I know that they are better managed than the rest,but if push came to shove and it became mandatory for anyone with a direct connection with a team to turn up at the stadium,how many people would show up for a match between Tusker and KCB?

May be only the employees of the two companies!!

How about a match between Thika United and Mathare United? There wouldn't be enough room to accommodate the 700,000 Thika residents plus 300,000 Mathare residents....a million people!!!!!!!

If you ask me,KFF / FKL should kick out these corporate teams because they have drained out the spirit of the game.

i support chelsea because it has a certain 'ethos' that i live by and believe in. cold,quiet efficiency. nothing personal,just biz. look at how Abramovich does his thing there? you mess up you go. look at how they play,nothing fancy,just get the business done. i live like that too. ...so in short....nina MSIMAMO....who is next???
