Fraud rises at NSE - regulator report

The capital markets reported nearly a 20 per cent rise in fraud cases last year even as the anti-fraud unit continued to make recoveries of money and shares lost through such malpractice.

According to the Capital Markets Authority (CMA) financial reports for the year ended June 30, last year, Capital Markets Fraud and Investigation Unit (CMFIU) – the institution set up by CMA to handle fraud cases – reported handling 460 cases of economic and cyber crimes compared to 390 cases the previous year.

Of the reported cases, CMA recovered Sh25.4 million in cash paid to clients and reinstated shares compared to 2010 when the institution recovered only Sh7.5 million.

The bus is in full gear...late comers don't attempt to climb this bus...previous pull back which was shallow was wave 4...we are now in wave 5 which gives me a target of 3500 if the current buying pressure is maintained but wave 5 is a short one so we might or not reach 3500...the market is becoming expensive as we go up as indicated by a PE of 8.7...events have turned on the global front...with no QE3 expect risk appetite to wane which means commodities, currencies and equities of emerging and frontier markets will take a beating...locally economic fundamentals have not changed for the better despite inflation coming down, that's why MPC retained 18% to keep the Shilling up and try contain inflation.

RSI - 70

Stochastics >80

Verdict: Market is overbought. It will take ALOT MORE buying to move forward. Buyer beware!

Interesting. The large movers(SCOM,KCB,EQTY) are conspicuously quiet today. But that how the behave, squeeze then release rinse and repeat.
