Ban on political discussions now lifted

Dear Members,
It’s been 3 weeks since the political discussions on wazua were suspended. Having noted the calm that has prevailed over this period and in consideration of the feedback that we have received on this issue, we now lift this ban and open the politics board for engagement. However, we would like to define the rules of engagement as follows:
1. No personal attacks or flaming
2. No hateful or tribal slur
3. Statements should be backed up by providing reputable links
4. No posting of naughty images
5. Double logins (multiple accounts) are prohibited
Please Note:
Any member who flouts the above rules will be barred from further participation in the political discussions.
The lift on the ban is provissionary, thus members under the “user” rank will not be able to post in the politics section.
A comprehensive lift on the ban for all members will take effect when there is evidence of satisfactory adherance to the rules.

But dont blame naughty images on politics. The posting of such pics has no correlation with political inclination, ask @magigi

Dear Members,
We appreciate your continued restraint as relates to Politics discussions. Restraint is not synonymous with cowardice, more akin to respect and temperance.
In spirit of improvement, we'd like to further sensitize users on four points:
POUNDING: You've said your piece and it is clear you oppose or support something and wont change your mind. Then you repeat your belief once, and again, and again, on the same topic. To what end?
OFFTOPIC: A fanatic will tend to see their agenda in everything. They will introduce their hero/enemy in every issue. You can't speak of the weather, or economy, or city council, without it being attributed to UK or RAO for that matter.
LABELING: As tempting as it is to label or group for emphasis, members will generally be offended by phrases such as 'your Muthamaki', 'hero worship...' etc.
INSULTING: A misconception could exist that a point is made when driven home by outrageous language. Hence we see outbursts such as 'Does he even know where his brains are let alone Mount Kenya?'

The Wazua Spirit This is futile. Wazua Admin is attempting to gag our political opinions. An opinion does not have to be backed by a link reputable or otherwise!! - That is precisely why it is an opinion - all it needs to have is the backing of cogent arguments.
