Over 40yrs later, the vision of the state of Kenya grows. But it in this new age, GEMAT leaders seem never to have thrown their weight behind a candidate who is not from their community.

In 2012/3, is it possible GEMAT leaders could put the country first?

Hope not. GEMAT is a pun on Gikuyu Embu Meru Akamba (Turkana) association which, in my mind, was at the forefront of Kenya's independence struggle and bore the brunt of the British Goulag.

@Muganda, this is in most Kenyans minds...but what I would like to see first is if the "G" in "GEMA" can vote for either the "E" or the "M".....

as I have asked you before, why do you think they would not? The only non-Gikuyu candidate from GEMA to vie for presidency was Geoffrey Kaibiria MMwireria in 1997(i would be surprised if u remember him). In the same election, there were 5 Gikuyu candidates! 3 of these were well known. Currently the Agikuyu have 4 well known candidates.(uhuru, martha, muite and Pk).

I believe GEMAT would be comfortable with any letter apart from number 18

Kiraitoo is going around popularizing the "MBUS", but it isn't a vehicle akina @UMK are interested in...but @Lolest, I havent mentioned that the "G" will not support the "M", I mentioned that I would really want to see it happen.. actually, it would be interesting if G7 settled on an "M" candidate...

Where is this candidate from "E" or "M"????? I don't think we've had any (strong one) in the last 3 elections. I know you might not agree but i think @loles is right, spliting GEMAT would be beneficial to your preferred candidate. Anyway like i said before if you look at the voting patterns in the last 3 elections all the major communities in the country have ALWAYS voted (majority) for their own tribesmen. Its only In 2002 we had a collection of tribal chiefs (NARC) with a common agenda to defeat KANU while in 2007 ODM had the Pentagon, again tribal leaders. I think we need to move together as a country instead of pretending that its just a problem in MT Kenya or wherever. Look to the day when Kenyans in central, RV and Nyanza would reject UK, WR & RAO for obvious reasons and support a candidate that we can all believe in.

looking thro the entire discussion i calmly submit that we can have candidates from the minority but we lack political parties, most of what we have are individual buses to satisfy individual whims
