Milan played very well defensively, ofcourse the messed up turf helf spoil Barca's game despite them having almost 70% possession. I'm 100% sure the awful miss by Robinho and the missed chance by Ibra will come to haunt them at Camp Nou.All they need is a scoring draw to progress but naona Barca switching on at home as they normally do on big occassions. The semi between Real & Bayern is all but set BEER IS LIVING PROOF THAT GOD LOVES US AND WANTS US TO BE HAPPY!

I agree with you @TT, when the ref spotted Nesta holding Busquets, he should have stopped play before or even after corner was taken, warned Nesta about it and asked for the corner to be re-taken. Instead he awarded an instant penalty. The first tackle that led to the first pena was clumsy (I have no idea what Mexes was thinking trying to give a back pass to Abiatti with Messi hounding him) but the 2nd one was questionable. Anyway, I never though Milan would go through at Camp Nou but it after the 2nd pena I totally switched off,it was like a blow to the solar plexus for Milan, just before the half. Haidhuru. Real Bayern will be the match to watch. I have a feeling Benfica will go down fighting today, Chelsea cannot afford to underestimate them. I hope they go through though for the sake of a Chelsea Barca semi, after which @kingfisher will disappear from Wazua, hehe BEER IS LIVING PROOF THAT GOD LOVES US AND WANTS US TO BE HAPPY!

The reason why it was a yellow card and a penalty it was because it was a two handed foul. He [Nesta] used both his hands. That is what the rules of the game say.

Ibra on thye game: Zlatan Ibrahimovic claimed that AC Milan had been the victims of a Uefa conspiracy after Tuesday night's Champions League defeat by Barcelona and revealed he now understands why Jose Mourinho is always left so "upset" after his visits to Camp Nou. The Swede was incensed by referee Bjorn Kuipers' decision to award the Blaugrana their second penalty of the evening for a tug on Sergio Busquets by Rossoneri defender Alessandro Nesta, arguing that he should have had a spot-kick himself. "How can he give a penalty like that?" Ibrahimovic told Mediaset. "If he gave that penalty, he should have given my penalty. The game is not about the man in green. It's a shame. I couldn't believe he called a penalty when the ball wasn't in play. It seems like Uefa wants a certain two teams in the Champions League final. Now I understand how Mourinho feels every time he comes to Camp Nou." ..."Wewe ni mtu mdogo sana....na mwenye amekuandika pia ni mtu mdogo sana!".

Penalties or not Barca is still the team watch. Kenya ni yetu sisi sote

weka rink rule gani hii, ati if Nesta uses both his hands its a foul - na akitumi moja [/quote] If you use one hand, that's pushing [different from the shoulder-to-shoulder body check]. The one-handed push or tag happens every time and that's why refs pause the game, warn players and order for a retake. In such cases,no card or penalty is issued. A two-handed infringement is a bookable offence.A two-legged offence is a straight red. If you have been watching the game for long, you will know. The supersport panelists too agreed with yesterday's foul. In fact Terry Paine said if the rule was enforced consistently,we would be seeing less of it in the D area. That's what the rule say, it is not always enforced but you can't blame a ref for enforcing a laid rule. About the link, how about you work for that, google fifa rules.

How about the 2 penalty claims at San Riro that were not awarded to Barca? AC lost by 3 goals to 1. Last night AC got 7 yellows, their game was physical. You can't blame them for trying that on Barca, but when you game plan comes back to haunt you, don't cry foul. Last night's Barca win had no Eufa hand. The one over Chelsea 2 years ago was. With the likely pairing of Barca against Chelsea in the semis, how about some revenge on the Chelsea part?

@mkeiyd, The ball was not in play at the D and there is no penalty to be given for that!!! Ibra should have won a penalty when Mascherano brought him down in the box, if the referee was using the same criteria he used to award the penalties to Barca. But he waved play on. How Mascherano continu...ed to be on the pitch after another wild lunge at Boateng, still beats me. Don't just support barca for the sake of it, if you are the best team in the world you don't need such decisions consistently to win the cup (we all remember chelsea, arsenal, real madrid and now AC Milan, why always them???) ..."Wewe ni mtu mdogo sana....na mwenye amekuandika pia ni mtu mdogo sana!".

@McReggae, why always Barca, i won't know. The rules of the game state that, "If the ball is in play" it doesn't have to be in the D, but in play. The corner kick was played then Basquets was brought down. Check page 109 of the Fifa rules.
I started supporting Barca in the days of Philip Cocu, back then they were in shadows of Ac, Madrid, Man U etc. To set the record straight, i just love them. They've always been my favorite, then Arsenal, then AC/Everton.

They might play the most beautiful football on the planet, but Barcelona are butchering their reputation with the blatant simulation on show against Real Madrid... http://www.sabotagetimes...elona-are-diving-cheats/..."Wewe ni mtu mdogo sana....na mwenye amekuandika pia ni mtu mdogo sana!".

Milan got away with this yet no one said a word, Wenger also complained about the pitch after the 4-0 defeat but he was called a "sore loser". During Mourinho's time at Inter he also did the same thing to stop the likes of Barca and other teams from passing the ball effectively.....flood the pitch to slow down play. "Replays showed Nesta grabbing the shirt of Busquets. A misdemeanour in Italy proved to be a crime in Spain and the spot kick was given" A foul is a foul, whether its a simple pull of the shirt or a two footed tackle. It happened inside the box so a penalty had to be given.

@TAZ, Tunakutafuta thread ya EPL, don't go MIA the way you have been!!! Today's games are a formality with Madrid up 2 goals and chelsea leading through a penalty with the Benfica skipper given matching orders!! ..."Wewe ni mtu mdogo sana....na mwenye amekuandika pia ni mtu mdogo sana!".

Chelsea vs Barca, Bayern vs Real. Those are two exciting semi-finals. I hope Di Matteo has what it takes to bring back the Mourinho days when Chelsea would nearly hammer the living daylights out of Barcelona. But on their current form, it's Barca for the finals. In the other game, it's hard to tell. It can go either way. But one thing I cannot bet on is Barca winning the trophy in May. Luck is when Preparation meets Opportunity. ~ Lucius Annaeus Seneca

Nesta argued that Puyol was acting as a shield to prevent Nesta from covering Busquets so that should have been the first foul given, but hayo ni maji yalimwagika na hayawezi zoleka. As people rightly observe, Barca are so good they don't need perceived biasness from refs. And anyway, if there's a team that should be the first to retain the CL title in it's current format then it's Barca - Di Matteo's Chelsea have no chance (especially with the return at Camp Nou), Mourinho's and Guus Hiddink's Chelsea did. I have a feeling Bayern will beat Real, but that's just a feeling. Back to that imminent 20th title... BEER IS LIVING PROOF THAT GOD LOVES US AND WANTS US TO BE HAPPY!

C&P: Jose Mourinho Post Match press conference APOEL have done great in this tournament and leave happy with their two goals tonight. Cristiano Ronaldo always works hard for the team, he is not selfish and he always wants to play. I'm happy for Kaká, and also with Ángel Di María and José Callejón. I'm happy for everyone. Bayern will be a great semi-final. FC Barcelona will play in the final, while the tie between Real Madrid and Bayern München will be more even. As a matter of fact!
