From my earlier post you will note that the middle class (indeed all NHIF members) benefits by getting a rebate of 1,700/- per day for inpatient care regardless of whether you are admitted in a public or private hospital or whether you are paying cash or using a private HMO scheme.

The use of sic can be seen as an example of the linguistic device of appeal to ridicule, whether intentional or not, because it highlights perceived irregularities. The application of sic with intent to disparage has been called the " benighted use" because it creates a "false sense of superiority" in its users. Sounds like typical nairobi middo crass Wikipedia

pariah wrote:the entire middo crass misses the point, what kind of healthcare do u expect for 350 bob? Mindro krass dont expect to get anything from their 350, infact their employer caters for them and some even have private arrangement with Resolution health etc. So for someone who is bila employment or some pretty income, a 350 health insurance is really something great. My problem with this thing is that it might get the private medical cover for middle level management and low thrown out in favor of the dreaded NHIF cover. BBI will solve it :)

Me think @pariah was rather de-usered quite soon, his behaviors still belongs to that group. He has never learned a thing yet! NH IF is an insurance fund. You are insuring against hospitalisation. One does not normally benefit from insurance. Otherwise if the fund or indeed any insurance company paid out all premiums to members, it would collapse.

This body was created by an act o parliament just like the NSSF. Currently NSSF under the regulator RBA is forced to declare their income and expenses and of late they have been returning profit. The public has also been privy to the many bogus investments they undertook and now they are accountable. Why can't NHIF be regulated by IRC coz this will enable the public to know where our money goes and how the money is used. The problem with the world is that the intelligent people are full of doubts while the stupid ones are full of confidence

pariah wrote:the entire middo crass misses the point, what kind of healthcare do u expect for 350 bob? Come on!! That 350 is from millions of people so don't make it sound like its 'just' 350. So tell me, lets say its 1,000,000 * 350 (of which this midro crass doe'snt even use), you could atleast expect half decent service no? So am assuming you want to tell us in 5years when they have collected this 2000 from guys, you will come back here and attest that all the middle class will be going to GOK institutes without the morbid fear they wont come out alive due to 'excellent' service?

This blanket assumption that more money will make things good is far fetched and shallow thinking!!! Portfolio: Sold You know you've made it when you get a parking space for your yatcht.
