Let me make it very clear from the onset that I am member of ODM and my preferred occupant of state house come 2013 is you Mr Raila Odinga. I am doing everything possible in Ukambani and elsewhere to ensure that Raila is the President of the Republic of Kenya come 2013. On this I will not relent. But there are a few things that may scuttle my wish and make this just a mirage.
First of all I would like to let you know that you cannot just talk like any other Kenyan. You are a President in waiting. Any word that comes out of your mouth will be dissected and things that you say or imply will be blown out of proportion. The recent incident where you rubbished Mutunga’s courts does not augur well for your presidency. I am sure your spin doctors have already told you that you goofed big time and by now you should have tasked them with image/damage repair. How this happens we are waiting to see. It has taken us eons to have courts that are functional and impartial. And there is no one who knows this better than you
Secondly ask Kajwang and Midiwo and to some extend Anyang’, and others to stop making ODM look like a Luo party. Listening to these guys talk one would think that State house will be transferred to Mbita island come next year. The two guys are giving ODM a bad name. Ask them to stop their utterances. What they are saying would be interpreted differently if it came from a Kamba or a Kikuyu mouth. Nyanza alone will not take you to state house!
You need to talk to your people to stop cases of hooliganism in football. I cancelled a very important appointment to watch AFC-Gor match on Sunday. I did not like what I saw. This is a match that was watched by thousands of Kenyans across the country (Thanks to KBC). When the scuffle started my father, who stays 100 kms from Nairobi, called me to find out if I was okay because I had told him that I will be attending the match. Then he asked me if that is how that group of people will be behaving once you assume power. It took me 20 minutes to explain to my father why you are still the best president in waiting. I am not sure I convinced him but because I am determined to see you as president next year, I will keep trying. Yes, Gor fans should be able to listen to you because you are a leader. A leader who cannot be listened to by his followers is no leader!!!
