Hi am new to the stock market i wanted to know which are he best securities to invest in the short term that will yeild the the highest returns and which kind of information release will trigger price change in stock

Hi am new to the fish market i wanted to know which is the best type of fish to bring to the market in the short term and that will yield the highest returns and which kind of information will trigger the price change in the fish market

Welcome to Wazua . I suggest you ask yourself what you will do after buying company X shares .
Do u intend to trade or invest? How short is your short term? What if you will not have made money by the expiry of the term etc?
Remember we are also in an election year.
Search Wazua for "Investing in treasury bills" there r threads talking about them.They may be a starting point. Visit also Investopedia.com you may learn abit regarding what you have asked.
Before you open your wallet get to know all you can about investing in NSE etc.

@Bundox,with slightly over a year to the next general election,it's not worth investing short term because of political uncertainty but you could consider 91day Tbills which are of good yields at the moment.
I used to be a pig but I am now a bull-bear hybrid.

The best company you can invest right now for short term is...the casino.Go to a casino and play black jack.Otherwise,invest in the medium term in an election year.

Might as well start looking at companies with PE less than 10 and Dividend yield of 5% and above.

Might also be wise to only choose from the top 20 most capitalized companies.

Easy, huh!

You may consider high dividends yielding stocks and possibly forget the notion of short-term investment.

I concur, this is the best way to approach it, but forget the notion of short-term.
