Female vs Male managers

A sterotypical title if there was one, but I think I'll benefit from Wazuans thoughts on the matter. Especially after I read @MuchNo scathing description of a much touted woman manager who featured on top 40 under 40. http://www.wazua.co.ke/f...amp;m=256065#post256065

I'm just dealing with the word MORE here rather than EVERY woman or man for that matter. Because, on an average day I think most would agree:
- more women are emotional or calculating
- more women prefer male subordinates
- more women prefer law, marketing, HR

Just as:
- more men beat their chests and 'know-it-all'
- more men find it hard to listen to a woman
- the business world is a man's domain


So, if you allow, on an average day in Kenya, would one be better off with a woman or male top 40 under 40 boss?

Alright, on average "Women Rule"
"Women get high ratings on exactly those skills needed to succeed in the global Information Age, where teamwork and partnering are so important."

On an average day in Kenya, you should be better off with a female top 40 under 40 boss. So why are they so few in the business place?

Just give us somebody who can deliver. It doesn't take gender to do that.

@essyk well said. I thought it would be interesting though to challenge some stereotypes relating to females in leadership. The majority of leaders are men but women believe "they have to work harder to prove themselves" and are "under constant pressure not to make mistakes".



At all levels, women are rated higher in fully 12 of the 16 competencies that go into outstanding leadership.

Two of traits where women outscored men to the highest degree — taking initiative and driving for results — have long been thought of as particularly male strengths. As it happened, men outscored women significantly on only one management competence in this survey — the ability to develop a strategic perspective.

So the big question is:

Why so few Women CEOs?

Is it true women are held back by Bad (Women) bosses?
