My view remains, I do not see any reason why the UK would send a minister here over a forged document. On what motive they would be having.....i must say, i don't know, but i will ask, why did the Foreign Office (UK) lobby Oxford Uni(or is it London School of Economics) to accept Seif al Islam as a student?

Kenya still belongs to the British, and anyone threatening to take it away from them is bound to face consequences.

Kenyans will never know the truth.

@Murchr..i see you have really changed...in your Konza arguments, you were in support of British architects involvement in the Konza design....now i see you haave crossed over to the other side..

regarding the authenticity of the letters, only a trained sleuth[ NSIS] can unravel the mystery. Am sure they have the knowledge and technique to track back such a document to its source.
For example, i can write a letter using Nigerian or pidgin English yet am as kenyan as they come then send the letter to someone hoping that they will automatically judge the source from the typos and english flow style.

@Alma..true..we should be discussing the intentions of the author .

Basic investigations usually start by checking who stands to gain the most from such a letter...

@a4architect.com Lol! My comment on Konza shouldnt be interpreted to mean that i support the west. No...i was just stating that no local architect has come up with a project like Konza. After watching this: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=6a0zhc1y_Ns I question any/everything about the west

It's impossible to fool kenyans and ICC/UK/West will learn that. I know the west has in the past intefered with elections outcome in other countries to favor those they feel will take care of their interests. kenya is not an exception. Nothing can be ignored here!

I think we are missing the point when we talk about the west. One side thinks that when we criticize the west we are criticizing everything they represent or have. I mean, we are using their language to discuss, we are using their technology to discuss this topic and their alphabet to express ourselves e.t.c. this does not mean that they are infallible (a word they invented). Our criticism of their tendency to interfere and think they know better than us in our business does not mean we think their Alphabet does not work for us now. On the other hand when we admire China and Japan we are not saying that everything Chinese is good - NO! I hate their gambling and noisy and amoral habits. We cannot really use their alphabet (2500 Characters). So I guess what I am trying to say is
- THE REALITY IS THAT THE WORLD IS A SUPERMARKET, we pick stuff that works for us and people pick stuff from us. the ALL FOR NOTHING MENTALITY WILL NOT WORK. We get our oil from the middle-east and our cars from Japan, we get our software from the Americans and sell our tea to Pakistanis.
Basically, we can disagree with people's (government) positions but that does not mean we become extreme like North Korea and refuse anything they have...HIYO NI UJINGA...NA SISI SIO WAJINGA!

@masukuma..i agree with you.

Not everything from the west is bad. Not everything from Asia is good.
Kenya should create systems tat ensure only their best get to represent them during bilateral agreements.

These representatives should be capacitated to tap into Kenya's resources such as Wazua e.t.c so that when in these meetings, they are able to sigh contracts that represent win-win situations for Kenya.

In the case of the letter discussed in parliament, Kenya should be able to have the best Sleuths who can unravel the mystery and give us hard solid facts on why the letter is fake or genuine.

In cases that are obvious to a laymen e.g when a husband or wife dies mysteriously, the best sleuths usually start investigating the closest family member i.e if wife, they start with the husband.
For a layman, they would first start by investigating enemies, business partners e.t.c .

Thats why the letter needs to be investigated by someone who would ignore the obvious facts e.g syntax and typos and zero in to a much more detailed investigation away from the obvious.

the key thing in all this is that NO NATION BUILDS ITS COUNTRY FOR OTHERS. We should not be stupid enough to think that applauses from the west or east will translate to anything substantial! Everyone is busy developing their own nation and as Moi said - NO ONE WILL COME FROM OUTSIDE TO DEVELOP KENYA FOR US. So the decisions we take should be solely to the benefit of Kenya and not to get kudos or 'atta boy' applauses from anyone else - they don't ask for our opinions when they conduct their businesses, why should we?

Mr. Masukuma we are not missing the point, we are being wajinga in supermarkets.

We want to pick items in the anti west political aisle and also items in the pro west economics and society aisle. We are like totally sleeping with them in 2 out of 3 beds!

Economically, the west have us by the gentler regions in a vice grip and we, being wajinga, seem to relish it thoroughly. 'We are in a world supermarket' we sooth ourselves. We crush all dissenting opinion who point out that shoppers in a supermarket are usually manipulated even if they reveal some facts to that effect. In fact, we call these dissenters 'wajinga' with high self righteousness.

Socially, we copy all they do look at our music, our language, our technology, our roads, our entertainment, our churches, our sexual perverts and all.

Politically? What is the point of them executing political theatrics among wajinga if they have already pinned them down in 2 crucial beds?

The political bed is the only bed we can still feel that we have some control. They have left it for us to fight for it amongst ourselves and to bed other fellows as it were but still within their limits, naturally. Their limits being defined as 'democracy'.

Occasionally they pop in and have us throw up the sheets crying out 'Oh interference! Oh, interference!' while chasing our tails.

So they have our money & economy and our minds, what more could anyone want? This status quo will not change regardless of who becomes president. I stand corrected and I wish I could be proven wrong.

So the letter calls for installation of a pliable president that seeks to be told 'atta boy' and jailing of another one, is that the politics? It is the politics! That is the point! It is politics being played.

I suggest that that is the motive of the letter; politics! Nothing more, nothing less.

We, the clever ones, insist that the secret letter is true. When that letter was true, one stands to loose most after all is said and done. After the political target is thus vanquished, will anything in the economy and society change? You tell me.

We, the clever ones, will only feel more secure that we have control of our political bed.

Wont we continue picking the 'good stuff' from them as we define to suit our needs in the world supermarket?

Wont they continue picking the stuff from us as they define according to their needs e.g. ICC suspects?

But if the letter is true, as we the clever ones hope it is, then an ex president will be in jail......while the vanquished will just be that, vanquished, and possibly burning mandazi in Kibera. Nice twist in the story there, huh?

Talk of wajinga in supermarkets!

Well put.
Where they are doing well, consulting them ain't a bad idea. No need of trying to re-invent the wheel.
All in all,our problems are ours to solve as a country.
