Why are the people who serve you food at a restaurant called WAITERS?
Because they were initially the ones who would make you wait at the entrance while your table was being prepared....today the also make you wait for your food!!
What about BROKERS? Initially,this term was only used in reference to the table attendants in Casinos. As you know,the house always wins,and the players always lose...to the point of going broke. Since the guy representing the house is the one that makes you go broke,he is called the BROKER!
In Kenya,stockBROKERS have surely live to this original definition!!
