Al Shabaab should not be able to operate within our borders. We should follow the homeland security approach US used to stamp out Al Qaeda. Any one with an idea how the same can be enforced in Kenya?

Every time I see a Somalian, I see grenades under his Kanzu. I alighted from a Citi Hopa in the morning when one of them came and sat behind me. I could not withstand the thought of the guy blowing us up anytime soon.

I have done the same thing too alighting from a double M.
This slender guy with kanzu entered, sat in the middle, but later stood and came to sit on the opposite row near the front but took a window seat.
Suspicion set in.

He had a backpack on his laps. I couldn't get my eye off him cz my heart was racing. Then the dude proceeds to remove some gadget out of his bag!! I swear I saw a black detonator and that's when I started seeing flash pics making headlines 'Double M bus goes up in flames'! kumbe it was a phone smh!

As if that wasnt enough the dude started playing with the seat belt and that confirmed it!.He was adjusting the belt holding the grenades on his tummy.I think I was in shock cz I alighted at the next stage which was far from my destination.

I am yet to recover.

Sikaribii any.sorry

Very real. Not a laughing matter.

TWO MINISTERS tell Parliamentary team there are too many Somali refugees in Kenya and they should be resettled in liberated areas of Somalia

@Insurgent - I see your point. It is high time we shed the holier than thou attitude. Let's not kid ourselves. If this was a Western capital, there would be one hell of profiling going on. As we speak, it is harder for a Nigerian to get a visa to a western country than it is for any other African? Why? It's obvious! Is it racism or any other form of ism? Nope. There is a good reason.

The person hurling grenades at innocent Kenyans could be Kamau, Otieno, Suleiman, Kipsang or anyone but there is a >95% chance he will be of Somali origin. Common sense should be used here.

If the government was serious, every car with somalis would be stopped for checking. Somalis would be stopped randomly and checked. There would be road block in all roads from Eastleigh and plomboxes getting out of the area - especially ones carrying somalis - would be thoroughly checked. This would be done respectfully without compromising the dignity of those being checked. It would definitely be inconveniencing to the MAJORITY OF INNOCENT/PEACE LOVING SOMALIS but would help net the minority who are hell bent on dispatching innocent Kenyans to their maker! It is a "small" price to pay to SAVE LIVES - one of which might be mine (ooh, or yours).

This happens every day. If there is a crime and the suspect is a fat short man, if you are a short fat man, expect to be put under the spotlight. If a red mercedes is stolen, and you are driving a red mercedes, expect to be stopped a couple of times. Why do we bury our heads in the sand when something - no matter how obvious - touches on tribe or race? Would we rather die and be politically correct?

I agree with that!!!

Refugee status should not be permanent. When some external organizations were pushing for the expansion of Kakuma camp and opening of borders after they had been closed for security reasons, there were suggestions that refugee camps should be set up in Somali and proper security provided but they couldn't hear of it.

If there is security in some parts of Somali why can't the camps be set up there?

I know, but the narration is still funny - especially when the fellow got "some gadget" out of his bag... and then started adjusting the safety belt that was holding the grenades...

I profile people every day and I have no apologies for it. It's called self preservation. For example, if I see a [Toyota] 110 with 3 or more men behind me past 10pm then you can be sure we will traveling at +160km/h until I say otherwise and they will only overtake me exactly where I choose. If I approach my gate and see some men I have never seen chatting nearby or 'lazing around' then I drive past. If I'm in a club and an extremely hot mama comes and sits next to me yet there are several free tables I switch to "anti-mchele" mode.

I'm I always right? Of course not but I'm sure I have saved myself/property a couple of times through this profiling!!!
