With all the destruction of forests and rape of our natural resources,we expect a calamity. The lack of political will to reverse this,creates and the utter ignorance of the majority worsens the matter. I was thinking as a solution lets not wait for the government to sort us out,instead we could all 'adopt a tree'. (just like 'adopt a light' but this time we each get a seedling plant it and maintain it till it matures. the trees dont have to be commercially viable,this way we could increase more indigenous trees and heal the wound we've caused on the environment. By the way we should keep away from the eucalyptus trees (they do more harm than good) i believe as an individual we can makea change. mimi naenda kupanda yangu on sato. remember time is not on our side.

@nyanga,

Good idea......Whatever we do though,the government has a larger say.Some concrete and deliberate measures need to be put in place to protect what is remaining of this forests......I tend to think the one reason why we are loosing out is coz most homesteads use kuni and makaa.How about zero rating LP gas.solar equipment and kerosene while encouraging tapping of biogas use and solar in rural areas?
