I watched some of the MPs on tv last night, and read this story this morning and i cant help wondering where we are going as a country?

these are the HONORABLE people we have elected to make laws. If they are compromised like this,do we really expect corruption to end in Kenya? Arent these the people who should be fighting corruption in government? Arent these supposed to be the most respectable, untainted individuals in the country if any of the laws they pass is to be taken seriously? Just where did we go wrong as a country? Are we all like this and is it only the opportunity we lack to excercise our greed? otherwise, how would you explain this having sent almost 3/4s of the earlier mps home? No wonder the parliament doesnt seem to have anything solved... look at the maize scandal, the oil saga, the 14billion,the grand regency... What has been solved conclusively? And now they want to increase salaries of the constitutional offices. Which by the way is the only thing that goes through parliament without much a hassle...

Who will save Kenya? Just who will stand to save our face, our country, our and futue generation?

Wendz*...

TRS*..
we know that this is not the case....

we have a political system.... usually termed as Majoritarian Democracy.....

where a bunch if idiots can rule over a citizenry that is enlightened....

the USA Constitution prevents this from happening through the Collegiate system...

I was watching Louis Otieno Live last week.
Everyone solution to our woes was 'get rid of these mps'.... then someone came up with a question which really got me thinking 'If we got rid of the current MPs would the new ones we elect be any different?' About 70% of the MPs are new but it's clear thaat only the faces changed.

So is it now fair to conclude that this idiots are a reflection of ourselves?

I have no problem with MP's taking money to pass laws,if anything thats the way it works all over the world.

Private interests have always influenced legislation through a lobby of one kind or another. Ordinary kenyans just need to learn how to lobby for their benefits,or counterlobby against the laws they don't want.

I also think the current parliament is doing some good work,we just need to be patient.

It is the executive led by MK and the Judiciary led by Gicheru that is letting the system down.

I guess if you can't win with facts, you can always pen bile-laced,xenophobic rants to distract everyone.
