there 2 kinds of people, the ones that build their country for others and love applauses of others and those that build a country for themselves.

I beg to differ. The attorney general is the principal legal adviser to the Republic of Kenya. He is a lawyer whose client is the the government of Kenya. It is not in the best interests of the government of Kenya to have an arrest warrant for a sitting head of state of a friendly country. He is doing his job. I think he is doing a good job because he is following the right procedure and respecting the law. He respects the decision of the court to issue an arrest warrant and is following the proper procedure to have that lifted. If he had no respect for the law or the people of Kenya he could easily have advised his country to ignore the court order and advise his client not to do anything should Bashir come here.

He is not doing this out of love for Bashir or because he thinks Bashir is innocent of the alleged human rights abuses and genocide in Darfur. He may very well hate Bashir's guts and even believe him guilty of all that he is accused of doing. I personally do not like Bashir and I think he is an idiot especially after those threats of restricting Sudanese air space to all aircraft from and to Kenya. He is however the legitimate president of the Sudan. I cannot think of a more blatant act of aggression than the arrest of a sitting head of state of any country. Sudan is our neighbor and it is in our best interests to maintain friendly relations regardless of how we feel about their president.

@kusadikika thats funny. Kweli Sudan doesn't have an attorney general. The arab league doesn't have one? The OAU doesn't have one?

Instead of the fellow going for far off countries, why doesn't he start in Kenya. Where he lives and gets his pay from.

I think IDP's would be very appreciative of his lawyer skills. Nairobi drivers still paying Kisia would also be very glad to get his help.

Let him work here to deal with Kenyan issues rather than waste time trying to get international limelight on issues he very well knows are of no consequence to the Kenyan being fleeced by greedy banks.

If it is such an act of war, let the Sudanese deal with it. We've had enough of chato diplomacy from one government.

@Alma

When you hear about the Attorney general please do not think about it as Prof. Githu Muigai sitting behind a desk and dealing with one item at a time. The attorney general is the head of what is properly called the State Law Office. He has a team of lawyers ,I don't know how many but probably numbering hundreds of lawyers and other paralegal staff. This is the office that handles all legal issues that affect the government and I am sure the Bashir issue is just but one of the thousands of issues that the Attorney General's office is handling.

99.99999% of what the Attorney General does is not something you will hear in the news so when you hear that he is handling a certain case do not be worried that that is the only thing he is doing while he should be doing something else. He assigns duties to his legal staff and he has many cases including Bashir's and I am sure IDPs and others all going on at the same time.

Did you know that if you had any grievance against the government, you sue the Attorney General? So there are hundreds if not thousands of cases being handled there daily.

its great to be taught a bit of law. So I guess these office with its battery of lawyers is too busy to deal with the Kisia guys who clamped my car yet there is a court order baring them from doing so. After all, they are busy protecting Sudan and not Kenyan citizens.

Whether Githu has one lawyer, 5billion lawyers or two scarecrows with him, he should be doing work for Kenyans and not for Sudan. It's that simple and no sugar coating will make this guy look any better than Wako. He's actually proving to be worse than Wako and that is a statement as crazy as saying goats eat zebras for lunch.
