mixture of positive and negative the later is actually one of the reasons they want to secede. the first can be used to convince them. but both cannot work together.

MRC is not as simple as seen.its a complex issue that needs proper planning to counter it..

majority of indigenous coast people are in it.i.e mijikenda, swahili and arab population , unfortunately majority are young idle youth who think the world owes them a living.

though they have some genuine grievances, seeking secede cannot happen.

people from bara need to be vigilant as the election nears as this idle youth may cause havoc

the mijikenda are not really part of the group. They have had differences with the waswahili and arabs who they claim took their land. There is nothing to negotiate with MRC about them causing havoc they know the consequences i don't think they can handle it.

While there are some genuine land issues that needs to be sorted and we have a constitution that must look into that, its regrettable to say that MRC is just a tool for Somali,Asian and Arab who sees an opportunity to incite the coastal populations so that they benefit from the ports. Just a reminder, before the shit Sultan landed on the Kenyan coast(stole it and made it his own),the coast was very much part of kenya. To now claim what you had stolen in the first place is just retarded and honestly,MRC is just a grouping on dumb Somali,Asian and Arab opportunists who relish Kenya going the Ethiopia way.

MRC shall fail and their chances to incite violence shall fail too.Better men have tried(SPLDF,Mungiki,Nairobi Taliban) and better men have failed.

By the way,Somalis must take they shit cattle and move out of Taveta!.We shall defend our coastal strip with all we have if it ever comes to that.

my point is - fight the idea not the people. fighting people and not ideas makes martyrs out of them.

Is it time to hammer their heads, SDLF style, or do we need to negotiate with this group. Why would they need to secede anyway. Coast is not like South Sudan where there is oil and if the issue is land, it may be easier to relook at this now that we have county governments which will be effective after the general elections.

one word - THE PORT!!

Ok... but to where?

What if the real Kenya decides to close its borders such that no imports are transported through Kenya from Mombasa?.... build a railway to Dar and make it so reliable and efficient that the other neighboring countries do not see the need to import/export through Mombasa.... The problem with some of the utterances from these guys is that they think they are doing Kenya a favour by being part of it... the fact that we wont have a coastline shouldnt mean that Kenya will be grounded.... Dar is not very far off..... And with the high likelihood of somali somalis, alshabaab and now the big brother swamping the place, they may end up having as many tourists as Mogadishu does.....

Only time will tell if this yearning is good for anyone at all.

But how will they be able to register that name yet the Parties Act prohibits registering names that implies the party is a regional/tribal? How will they also be able to ganner signatures from other counties?

They will appeal the decision. Why?

It was not expected. Now they cannot get the limelight of activism associated with fighting the government. Who will blame? They must appeal.

makes sense but they will just name it differently and pretend to be national. I see the courts reasoning as a political party, they will be regulated on what they can preach.

But then again, we need some executive orders to "ban" some of these groups Michuki style.
