Football is not just technique, sometimes the will power determines the ultimate winner. Their coach said they had a mountain ahead but they wanted to reach it's summit. Happy that they made history near the place they lost their entire team in 93, so emotional. You could feel that it meant so much for them. Where did they lose the 1993 squad? Gabon through a plane clash. lost all team members except one player.

When it got to penas, Zambia were no longer underdogs...and stars have always had problems with shootouts. Slaying Senegal, Ghana, and Ivory coast was no mean fete. what a way to honour KK11 "The chief danger in life is that you may take too many precautions" - Alfred adler

Congrats are in order for the Chipolopolo now the KK11 can rest in peace as history has been written. Is this the emergence of a new football powerhouse in Africa? Kenya ni yetu sisi sote

I was so happy, juggling between the Las Vegas 7s and the finals. VIVA Chipolopolo, self belief is great!!!! Man city, chelsea and arsenal players missed penalties for CIV, what stars can do!!! ..."Wewe ni mtu mdogo sana....na mwenye amekuandika pia ni mtu mdogo sana!".

Ivory Coast didn't concede a single goal at the tournament, sad they lost on penalties. The Drogba, Toure, Kalou generation is the best they've ever had lakini bado hakuna trophy.

This is by far the most entertaining final I've seen in a long time (in all competitions, including CL), it was end to end gripping stuff despite the lack of goals. I was very impressed by the adventurous play of Chipolopolo, they were show boating (sp) in the midfield and looked very confident. I actually believed Ivory Coast had enough to win it but were quite unlucky not to score. Drogba blamed the turf for the miss but he should have been more careful as he placed the ball on the spot. And clearly EPL players are poor on the penalty spot. Well in Zambia. I hope SS repeat the closing ceremony, I missed it and saw the highlights this morning - the 3D show was exceptional! BEER IS LIVING PROOF THAT GOD LOVES US AND WANTS US TO BE HAPPY!

Strange that all the penalty misses except one were by EPL players. And the funniest was by Toure, notice how he ran like a mad man and from a distance.....talk of nerves.. When I admire the wonder of a sunset or the beauty of the moon, my soul expands in worship of the Creator.

The only thing necessary for the triumph of evil is for good men to do nothing.

I somehow feel the Ivory coast were not as combative as they normally are they seemed to be subtle in their attack its as if they wanted Zambia to win.Gervinho was subdued even when it came to penalties he did not want to take them. Corners are their best assets, but they took some of the worst corners in the tournament.Drogba was in most cases alone in the attack something did not add up yesterday. Very comical run by a comedian of a player. That linesman who disallowed the first zambian penalty save was really out to ruin our night. How do you disallow a clinical save during shootouts? Surely the slight movement of the keeper should never have been a factor despite what the law says. IF YOU EXPECT ME TO POST ANYTHING POSITIVE ABOUT ASENO, YOU MAY AS WELL SIT ON A PIN

When a good team is made to look ordinary, it simply means the opposition is better. The Zambians were too mobile and swift for the Ivorians.
