With treasury bills the current interest (next week)is 12.570% for 3 months, so after tax with 1.6M you will make Ksh. 41330.40 after 3 months

Not AFTER 3 months. In his case, he'd have paid the CBK Kshs. 1,558,669.6. After three months, the CBK credits the amount invested (1.6m) into his account unless he opts to roll over.. In effect, you enjoy your interest in advance.

Opening a CDS account is fairly straightforward. You need slightly more than a week. Allow a week for opening the account. And then you you need to place a bid for the T/Bill that will currently be selling. Bids close on Thursday and you pay by the following Monday.

i agree T bills have very good returns and more so a good option for short term investment.but if u think of putting in money market i can give some details.

small banks give good deals unlike the big ones,you can sit with them and bargain for good rates.
