Fabio Capello Resigns as England Coach! How!? Why!? He earns 6 million pounds sterling a year! I want his job. smile

FA STATEMENT

"The Football Association can confirm that Fabio Capello has today resigned as England Manager.

"This follows a meeting involving FA Chairman David Bernstein, FA General Secretary Alex Horne and Fabio Capello at Wembley Stadium.

"The discussions focused on The FA Board's decision to remove the England team captaincy from John Terry, and Fabio Capello's response through an Italian broadcast interview.

"In a meeting for over an hour, Fabio's resignation was accepted and he will leave the post of England Manager with immediate effect."

This must be Ntimama's day. In the morning he is cleared by courts and Capello resigns in the evening. Mourinhos name will feature in the succession but Ntimama might be the next manager.

Redknapp is 66 years old now and is coaching a very vibrant Tottenham team this season. I don't see him accepting the job. Especially with only 3 months left to the Euros.

I'm no football fanatic but England tend to overate themselves when it comes to international football.
Club football is good bt remember its full of 'imports' who boost talent in the club scene.
England have the celebrity mentality kind of view, like David Berkham (how do we write his 2nd name?).
In my view, they should be ranked somewhere between Romania and India in fifa rankings.

Well well, I thought the coach has the powers to appoint the captain, what the hell. So now 4 months to the Euros, no manager, no captain. Who cares??

Harry is the overwhelmng candidate to replace Fabio, he is 64 yrs old not 66, infact David Levy is looking for maximum financial comepnsation before he lets go of Harry!!!

Fabio Capello's problems have always been John Terry!!!!...how can he choose to stick with him after the two scandulous acts........wayne bridge and Anton Ferdinand!!!

...What Did John Terry Say To Anton Ferdinand?
Some people think that John Terry called Ferdinand “f----n' black c - - t." Others think they see him say ""You f--king blind c - - t, f---ing nobhead."

@ Magigi.....Here's the clip

http://www.guardian.co.u...y-anton-ferdinand-video

The English FA have no one to blame but themselves, they really made a big mess of this John Terry's case. I believe if they had charged him earlier hii story ingekuwa imeisha......

"arry" is likely to succeed Capello but i don't think he'll achieve much with the national team. Poor Spurs, just when things were starting to look good for them now their Manager is about to leave.

I think its just as well that he has resigned, he has seemed increasingly clueless on how to make England perform. In my opinion, with Terry in the team, England lacks unity in the changing room. It would have been best though if the decision to strip Terry of the captaincy arm-band was made by Capello and Not the FA

I have always wondered...WHO CARES? when was the last and only time the english football team won the worldcup? 1966
http://www.telegraph.co....-tax-free-payments.html

they are still talking about it. Like England is some kind a super footballing nation!
Actually we are better suited to talk about who the coach of Uruguay is ... they have won it more times.

How can you lose what you never had?

The only reason they won '66 is coz Pele was literally kicked out of the world cup by the Portuguese and then the "goal that never was" in the semi against West Germany.

@Taz, why would 'Arry leave Spurs when they are wthin reach of CL football again and Euro's starting in a few months, maybe in a care taker role like Guus did with Chelsea and Russia but not full time! That would be a slap on the face to a team that has supported him throughout...

So the corrupt FA decides to save face by removing JT as the captain and decides to sacrifice Cappello.
Is that punishment enough for JT?Just stripping him of the national team captain arm band?

England will never in the near future win any major trophy,so if u support them pole sana.

@ Smano....Redknapp would jump at the opportunity to manage England and i don't think it would be as a care taker manager.....besides i don't think the FA would ever agree to that especially with the Euros coming just after end of season. He's already taken Spurs to the CL before so nothing new for him there. I also believe managing the National team will pay well than doing the same at Spurs. Even if he fails at the Euros i believe several EPL teams would consider taking him in.
Almost everyone is tipping him to succeed Capello including the players.....what a better stage to announce your presence than Euro 2012.

I think the only reason that Redknapp would manage the English team on a full time basis is for the money (I'm sure he'll be paid far more than Capello, considering the circumstances). Not because the English team have any chance of winning the Euros or winning a major trophy in the next one thousand years.

If I were Redknapp, I'd politely decline the English team job and continue coaching Spurs. If he takes the English team job, it's only a matter of time before the media turn on him after a string of poor performances, which are inevitable with an English team so lacking in talent and quality.

He only recently had heart surgery and for the last month or so was taken through a nightmare trial over tax evasion. He shouldn't take the job. And the Spurs fraternity would be very bitter at him for not seeing them through their most successful season yet.

@jguru,
The dream of every english coach is to manage the national team, the level at which Arry has reached guarantees him a club role whichever day he walks out od the england job.

I think in biaseness against the english we refuse to acknowledge that england indeed has some talent, Look at all the top clubs in the EPL, each of them at least boasts of tro or three good footballers, with the right coach and preparation, england may just surprise some of you......the three lions!!!!!
