...A new car from a show room and you can't afford to take it back to the dealers? If its new I guess you are chummed enough to take it back to the dealer. Otherwise rephrase your statement to stop giving new car owners a bad name.... Reconditioned would do....

Magigi,

May be its a new 'used car' i.e newly imported 8 year old car?

Njung'e can advise if buffing can be done as DIY job.I think it can

@ Gathinga, you dint explain what kind of scratches they were or what caused them.

Otherwise if they are the minor kind caused by your car keys, shrubs (e.g. the kind you sustain when you drive through bushes, game drive or after a visit to an unkempt shags),don't waste your money looking for someone to do it for you.

Walk into Nakumatt, motor accesories sections and pick a tin of Turtle Wax ( Kshs. 345 for a small tin),and the color restorer. Also pick a face towel of about Kshs. 80 bob.

Then on saturday morning or sunday morning, wash your car and then using the face towel apply the wax over the areas with the light marks, leave for about ten minutes and then rub away the marks. do the rubbing in a circular motion. after that you can wash your car, apply the color restorer (about 750bob for an aerosol bottle),and then apply another thin layer of wax evenly. This should sort you out and will give your car a sparkling apperance especially if it's pearl white or just white.

DIY..........Buy safecut (Fine) and wax.If you have nasty scratches, you might consider resin pencils.Works like miracles.

I also have Safari Boots from Bata that are now stained. Have taken them at that place outside Nakumatt Lifestyle but the stains are still there.....who knows how to clean these shoes so that they look like they were before?
