A brilliant idea which can transform the sector and wipeout cartels if well executed..you can pima as low as 50bob...why didnt kk think of venturing into this before anybody else? "Don't let the fear of losing be greater than the excitement of winning."

Good idea especially for the lower income segment of the market. Kerosene demand will probably fall. But the kadogo economy products are often expensive.

Jinga idea which is likely to fall flat on it's face.To refill 1KG you will require 300 bob.Put any other way,it's 3900 to a 13Kg cylinder.I get the same 13Kg at sub 3K.....Well.....50 bob will give you 167 grams of gas.....What would you cook with 167 grams of gas?NKT! Nothing great was ever achieved without enthusiasm.

The kadogo economy has worked for fast moving consumer goods,such kind of goods don't require the kind of infrastructure this "pima" gas refilling demands. Hefty investments with paltry returns. It could fly, but as i see it, it's a sheep.

Some of us are talking like tycoons,but the low segment market cannot be ignored.when equity started dealing with wanjikus pple thought they were mad,,i think it will sell. "Don't let the fear of losing be greater than the excitement of winning."

I'm also concerned about how long that gas will last. However, its target mkt must make sense of it against use of kerosene or charcoal and if it makes sense, then they have a sale plus gas is 'safer' when properly used.

And not forgetting the cost of the cylinder and the disadvantage of having only one provider. I don't disagree in trying to provide for the low segment mkt @mlennyma but that mkt is not only very demand driven, it's also very cost driven and that's why it is very hard trying to model the cooking fat concept which just requires a nylon paper to gas which requires a cylinder plus the added margin. For me, this ain't gonna work but will make a great case study one day.

If they only refill other cylinders and make it more available in supermarkets and petrol stations, then they will make serious cash.
I'm of the idea that gas should be like fuel, you refill as per my affordability !
