I am sure that many Kenyans are keen on good governance. I am also sure that not many condone pilferage or misuse of public resources. Before we got to this point of awareness as a nation, a lot of public education took place- thanks to civic education. I can say with confidence that Kenyans especially in the context of the current Constitution know their rights more and are more vigilant in keeping the pilfer and plunderer of public resource away from places where accountability is paramount.

I am also sure that Kenyans are ready to allow the rule of law to replace the yesteryear mob-lynch mentality that reigned in hounding public officers out of office. Any well-meaning Kenyan, especially those occupying the more visible and solemn stations cannot be seen to perpetuate public-stoning mentality at a time when our judicial systems are on the mend.

That is precisely the reason why lawyer Ahmednasir Abdullahi’s public effervescence towards the Kengen-Chinese matter and boss is off-taste. For a respected lawyer like Ahmednasir, street-corner type shows of bravado cannot only denude his well-respected legal standing whilst casting public doubts on the real motivation for going jugular for one man who would best tried in a Court of Law.

So is it about the legalities of the matter at hand or a compulsive desire to drag Kengen boss in the mud for reasons way beyond what is immediately visible to the ordinary eye?
