I wish there was a way to vote against a presidential candidate. I would vote AGAINST Kalonzo. If you think Moi sold Kenya to the dogs for 24years, try Kalonzo.

I saw this statement in twitter! And also this one "If a company suspends you, you cannot apply to the same company for even a more senior post" paraphrased or is it modified. The 4th president has not declared interest yet! What's the deadline??

I believe Kenya will go to the gutter if this man comes any closer to where he is to the presidency.

I am still waiting for that one guy who will give clear reasons as to why he hates Kalonzo. The guy wasn't involved in a coup attempt, he never had a rowdy jeshi, does not have arrogant supporters and is loyal to a fault to govt and does not go spilling gvt secrets all over.

Now for his watermelon trait. I believe this is more of perception than fact. He has always looked at his self interest, which all human beings do. In 2008, he agreed to form a coalition with Kibaki which was the first event that earned him the watermelon tag. But what was he to do? Side with the man who snatched the Presidency from him(Raila) or back a besieged retiring old man?

I believe Kalonzo celebrated Raila's loss in 07 more than any other person. Raila's overturning of ODM-K and leading to a defection to ODM killed Kalonzo's bid for state hse and left him with a shell of a party. If these guys had stuck together and backed Kalonzo, they could have had a clear win! It must have been sweet revenge for him when he accepted the VP post from Kibaki.

In the referendum he acted resolute for yes but his heart had been won over by the reds esp. the church group which he (wrongly) believed was a key support base for him. He sent mixed signals when his wife and close associates attended a NO meeting in Machakos. On account of this, I agree he acted confused and this did not go well with the Kenyan public which was by then branding everyone opposed to the new law as anti-reform.

I think he is a colourless politician, he does not inspire the electorate but I do not have reason to like or hate him. But the level of hate he receives makes me pity him.

Political logic is not the same as moral logic. Infact, politics and morality seldom converge.

He is just being tactical and playing politics.
