Or why drive with lights on at 12 noon under the scorching equatorial African sun?

Time and chance happen to all.

The same dim wits will blind you at night on high beam and not bother to dip them even when you signal them.

I thought I was the only one meeting people in the day who drive with full lights on! What is wrong with some people who can't dim their lights at night even when you flash to alert them?

Is this immaturity and too much ego as a result of low self-esteem? What is the similarity between watchmen and bus drivers?

@All,I am the proud owner of a Subaru. I also happen to have driven with my headlights or fog lights on quite a number of times.
I know that there are many people who drive their cars with the headlights on during the day (not just Subaru drivers!). A number could be due to the 'floss' factor.
However, there are some who are not aware their lights are on as a result of driving from basement parking. Also,in Subarus (and other car makes too) the headlights go off once the ignition is switched off. The next time you switch on,it is quite probable that you be driving around, not knowing that your lights are on,for quite some time.

The most notorious r the personal car drivers. The psvs n truck drivers will almost always dip their laits on the highway. Been on highways mostly at nite n thats the trend. I thnk most dont understand the real meaning of the highway code.

The only reason why some people are still alive is coz its illegal to shoot them!!

I strongly believe that you should ALWAYS dip your lights when there is another vehicle approaching. Its irritating and more so,dangerous to drive around in full lights.

...n yeah, last wkd there was the nanyuki kcb rally,n there were numerous subarus thoz sides. Rally cars r driven with headlights on,maybe to warn other roadusers. The guys attending the rally just pick the habit n do likewise....

Most subarus are driven by young people from my observation and in most cases there's loud music in it. I used to think that these youngsters leave the lights on for attention.

A likely impossibility is always preferable to an unconvincing posibility.

The reason is as given by @Cowpeke.

This used to be a feature on all Volvo cars a few years back. You could not turn off the lights even if you wanted to. Apparently,Sweden gets frequent and abrupt fog in the middle of the day making it very dangerous on the roads. Thus they passed a rule that cars must be driven with lights on ALL the time, day and night! Thus Volvo makers decided to connect the light switch to the ignition permanently.....

Anyone living in Sweden to confirm whether this is true?

Correct me if I'm wrong ladies but half of the time I'm blinded by full lights at night it more often than not turns out to be a lady driver - is that you forget you have full lights on or you don't know the effects of full lights on other drivers? I'm not being biased, just that every time someone has full lights on I always look closely to see who the idiot is,no offense

Speaking of full lights at night, the most dangerous are the ones from the car behind you!!

The one in front lasts only a few seconds, but the car behind you can blind you for very many minutes....even half an hour on a busy road. The problem is that many idiot drivers don't know that they are blinding you from behind!

@Mukiha,
Since you can't stop and tell that idiot behind you to 'fokoff',arm the wing mirrors and the rear view mirror with anti-glare film.

Many cars now have a prismatic rear-view mirror... that can be tilted to reduce the brightness of glare of headlights from car behind..... but you still have a view of the rear.

For those that don't,they can be easily swivelled to change position....
