How effective is CIC Insurance when it comes to repaying your car after an accident, my sister car was involved in an accident in December, 2011 and it's a month now and the insurance has not yet decided whether to write off the car or to repair it. Whenever she goes there they give her different stories, yet she had taken comprehensive insurance for the car.

Any one who have dealt with them before kindly share or advise.

thanks

CIC are my preferred insurers. They are very highly rated in paying if the paperwork is in order. So let her relax and present ALL the relevant paperwork.

njoki,
pole about yr car/sis axdent.

Some years back i had a car written off.
Completed paperwork- Claim,Abstract, Logbook,Drivers licence, Took me 2 days. Garage estimate took 7 days. Assesors report took 3 days. Waiting period before Discharge Voucher came from Insurer= 33days. Cheque for settlement took 7 days. The Insurer was UAP.Overall i thought they were extremely good and didnt have to do much. However, due to some personal circumstances i moved on and am now elsewhere. Ensure your sis/broker or whoever has done their bit properly

BTW, why are you dealing with the insurer? That is the work of your broker, you pay him/her to do that.

Normal procedure, the broker takes your claim, and does the table banging on your behalf.

Remember also, if you look desperate infront of an insurer, their antennae go up.

Indeed brokers work.......if she did it direct like quite a number do woe unto her, any insurance treats direct clients badly.
