Just read in the papers today that the Govt has set aside 8b shillings for resettling IDPs.

What beats me is that 8billion shillings has become available just as we are entering the election year. In addition, the PS for special programmes says the money will be paid directly to the 'vendor' of the land as opposed to the individual families.

This reminds of this the tazama chapa and other 'lucky' dips. I can smell something untoward in the making Shame on you Sad

What would the 9b have anything to do with kutazama chapaa? The govt should is aleready behind by years and should even be embarrassed talking about processes. They should resettle them pronto and shut up.

my theory (call it conspiracy theory) is that things like tazama chapaa are vehicles to earn some politician big money to finance the search for kura. yes, people win money but whoever is behind it probably makes a lot more than is given away.

so that suddenly the serekare has found 8b for IDPs just before mwaka kura smells of the tazama chapaa scheme to me.....

Now that the govt opted to acquire land to resettle the IDPs, what will happen to the lands they were evicted from? Will the govt acquire it or the hostile neighbours grabbed it?

very good question. what happens to the property they owned? And, arent we encouraging evictions because the government will provide land and then i can acquire my neighbours ka-eighth? The government should have repossessed those lands and sold them to the interested in the community then relocate the IDPs... and reduced the relocation burden.

It could also mean that it is a vehicle for those in powers that be to reduce their holdings on idle land because once the constitution is implemented, it will be difficult to hold such chunks! And we shall still kill each other voting them back to "protect our interests"... NKT!

This precisely what Ruto and his merryband wanted. Throw Kiuks out of kalelands to influence future voting patterns. North RV is still a powederkeg going forward for this reason. Too many madoadoa...
