Every vocation should demand one to always strive to be at their best, and this would mean lots of research and continuous improvement. Therefore explaining errors away as results of font blah blah blah is letting these blokes get away with professional laziness and ineptitude. How about extending that to doctors, drivers and circumcisers?
Is it possible it was the first time s/he came across the name. And are there editors in the media house?

to err is human so may be this was an 'honest' mistake but it only speaks to the fact that the media staff should research and understand contexts.....

another peeve i have with them are the many grammatical mistakes one sees in the news coverage...i just cant get over it. it was bad enough that the teachers had placards with grammatical mistakes but this thing with the news coverage is a daily occurrence and points to laxity.

few weeks back, during syokimau demolitions, one Rita Tinina kept referring to excavators as Caterpillars even with their bold 'Hyundai' names clearly displayed on their side. She repeated again and again for a few times during the week. I felt sick to the bone and wondered if ever these news are ever edited before being aired.
