Why would the army lie that they had killed insurgents when they had actually killed Kenyan citizens. Someone was supporting propaganda as a means of winning war. But when lives are lost because of negligence or stupid mistakes, something must be amiss.

A lie is a lie from whatever angle you look at it.

Sample this C/P

They warned the occupants of the boat, whom they suspected to be Al-Shabaab militants, to surrender, but the "terrorists" ignored their calls, hence the shooting.

"We managed to kill 18 Al-Shabaab fighters," the military reported, "but a few others escaped with injuries."

However, the families of the affected fishermen insist that there was not a single terrorist soul aboard MV Nawal when it set off for Ras Kamboni a week earlier.

A day after reports of the incident trickled to Nairobi, Mr Omar Msham, a village elder at Ngomeni who claimed he owned the sunken vessel, said all the 10 fishermen had identified themselves as Kenyans when they surrendered to the navy officers shortly before the shooting.

It does not matter. If they had surrendered to the Navy, why put them back at sea and shoot them. While at it, why do such a shoddy job that some survived to tell the truth?

If the boat was shot and sunk on sight, that is something else as boats had been warned not to operate in the area. But why lie to me that the fishermen were Al-Shabaab when they were not? Why lie to me that they were 18 insurgents when they were not. What millage do you gain from that kind of outright lie? It means our Navy has no heart at all. Read the whole story to see what I mean?

I would have appreciated it more If the story had not been made available to the media. It pains.

Something doesnt add up in the fishermens tale. What were they doing in red flagged waters, essentially a battlefield? I had heard numerous warnings for anybody dreaming to go to the sea. What were they doing at Ras Chiamboni, an alshabaab hell hole???? And the story of identifying themselves, fake! Fake! Fake! Not unless all our seamen are INSANE. Those wazees should be immediately arrested for questioning.
