...In my well informed opinion, the answer is YES. The two groups of people are brought together by their religion, which they all interpret to mean that there is no other religion other than Islam and those who follow any other are kaffirs, infidels etc. So when Al Shabab say they are fighting a Jihad, support comes from any quarter that upholds such belief.

Is the war we have started against Somalia ever going to end?...NEVER...Ask the Americans and its allies when they invaded Iraq and Afghanistan! How does one win a war where the enemy thinks dying while fighting is a clean ticket to paradise. Has anyone ever won a war against Jihad? I am not aware!
