Some Libyan facts:
1. There are no electricity bills in Libya; electricity is free for all its citizens.

2.
There is no interest on loans, banks in Libya are state-owned and loans given to all its citizens at 0% interest by law.

3. Homes are considered a human right in Libya – Gaddafi vowed that his parents would not get a house until everyone in Libya had a home.
Gaddafi’s father has died while him, his wife and his mother are still living in a tent.

4. All newlyweds in Libya receive $60,000 Dinar (US$50,000) by the government to buy their first apartment so to help start up the family.

5. Education and medical treatments are free in Libya. Before Gaddafi only 25% of Libyans are literate. Today the figure is 83%.

6. Should Libyans want to take up farming
career, they would receive farming land, a farming house, equipments, seeds and livestock to kick-start their farms – all for free.

7. If Libyans cannot find the education or medical facilities they need in Libya, the government funds them to go abroad for it – not only free but they get US$2,300/mth accommodation and car allowance.

8. In Libyan, if a Libyan buys a car, the government subsidized 50% of the price.

9. The price of petrol in Libya is $0.14 per liter.

10. Libya has no external debt and its reserves amount to $150 billion – now frozen globally.

11.If a Libyan is unable to get employment after graduation the state would pay the average salary of the profession as if he or she is
employed until employment is found.

12. A portion of Libyan oil sale is, credited directly to the bank accounts of all Libyan citizens.

13. A mother who gave birth to a child receive
US$5,000

14. 40 loaves of bread in Libya costs $ 0.15

15. 25% of Libyans have a university degree

16. Gaddafi carried out the world’s largest irrigation project, known as
the Great Man-Made River project, to make water readily available throughout the desert country.

How was Libya doing under the rule of Gadaffi? How bad did the people have it? Were they oppressed as we now commonly accept as fact? Let us look at the facts for a moment.

Before the chaos erupted, Libya had a lower incarceration rate than the Czech republic. It ranked 61st. (SA: 30th) Libya had the lowest infant mortality rate of all of Africa. (Libya 18 per thousand, SA 44 per thousand) Libya had the highest life expectancy of all of Africa. (74 years; SA 49 years) Less than 5% of the population was undernourished. In response to the rising food prices around the world, the government of Libya abolished ALL taxes on food. (On 12 Jan, 2011).

People in Libya were rich. Libya had the highest gross domestic product (GDP) at purchasing power parity (PPP) per capita of all of Africa. (About $15,000; SA about $10,000). The government took care to ensure that everyone in the country shared in the wealth. Libya had the highest Human Development Index of any country on the continent. The wealth was distributed equally. In Libya, a lower percentage of people lived below the poverty line than in the Netherlands. (About 7%; SA about 50%).

On July 7, 2011 1.7 million people assembled in Green Square in Tripoli in defiance of the Nato bombing. That was 95% the population of Tripoli,
1/3 the population of the country. It has come out that the people were paid 4 million each by the US to falsely testify about the 1990's Lockerby Pan Am bombing. Paid to lie and have since recanted their evidence. So now what do you
think about what we are being told about Libya?

Which any other "dictator"
has done so much good for his people?

After reading this, and doing a cursory scan of information on google, I have to think we'e been lied to - if so we are an evil country!

We destroyed Libya!! Any comments on this?
''Libya is considered to be the Switzerland of the African continent and is very rich and schools are free for the people. Hospitals are free for the people. And the conditions for women are much better than in other Arab countries." (Russia Today, August 25, 2011)

What do you really know about Libya? It sounds beautiful!

Before 1951 Libya was the poorest country in the world. Did you know Libya before Nato invasion, Libya had the highest standard of living in Africa more than Brazil, Russia, Saudi Arabia. Education is free and 83% literacy rate. Electricity is free to all. Newly marrieds receive $50,000 for a home. Health care is free and high quality. All loans are 0% interest free by law. The Libyan bank is state owned. If Libyans buy a car, the government paid 50%. The price of gasoline is US$.14 CENTS! On July 7, 2011 1.7 million people assembled in Green Square in Tripoli in defiance of the Nato bombing. That was 95% the population of Tripoli, 1/3 the population of the country. It has come out that the people were paid 4 million each by the US to falsely testify about the 1990's Lockerby Pan Am bombing. Paid to lie and have since recanted their evidence. So now what do you think about what we are being told about Libya?

Some link worth checking out for Gaddafi is a hero party.

Can we please stop following the Americans? At least 30,000 Libyans have been killed in this false revolution. Does this really make sense to you?

A Short Historical Timeline:

1943: The World War II Allies drive Italy from Libya. In the post-war period, Tripolitania and Cyrenaica remain under British administration and the French control Fezzan.

1912-1932: Armed resistance to Italian rule under the leadership of the Senussi dynasty.

1934: Italy merges Libya's three historic regions – Tripolitania, Fezzan and Cyrenaica – into one colony. It becomes an Italian province in 1939.

1943: The World War II Allies drive Italy from Libya. In the post-war period, Tripolitania and Cyrenaica remain under British administration and the French control Fezzan. Interestingly France and Britain just re-colonized Libya.

1951 - Libya poorest country in our world.

1951: Libya becomes independent on December 24 with King Idriss al-Senussi head of state of a federal monarchy based on its three historic regions. Fallowing Italy, France and Britain Libya remained the poorest country in our world.

1958-1959: Oil discovered. Drilling starts in 1961

1969: King Idriss deposed in a military coup led by Gaddafi.

1970-1971: Gaddafi introduces state socialism by nationalising most economic activity, including banks and oil companies. This, of course, is something that initiates American rage. This begins the American assault upon Libya through various means short of invasion.

1973: Libyan forces occupy the Aozou Strip in northern Chad until 1994. This was a narrow strip of land along the borders of Chad and Libya.

1977: In 1977 Libya was renamed the Socialist People's Libyan Arab Jamahiriya (state of the masses), as Gaddafi declared a "people's revolution" with power invested in a network of people's committees. At this time Libya became very pro-Palestnian and this, of course, is not to be suffered by the USA and Israel. Any support for Palestinians is considered wrong by the USA which always wants things there way.

Am not sure what to believe but the one thing I keep asking is: if he was all that good, why did his countrymen rise against him in such huge numbers?
