Seems to me like someone has a money laundering issue and wants to blame good ol BBK. I have banked with BBK since 2001 including a 4 yr stint when I was out of the country and I have never had a major problem with them. When faced with the monor problems like signature not exactly resembling the sample on their system, some managers such as Joy of Yayah Centre branch and John Kaburu- formerly Muthaiga and Plaza branches have been extremely helpful. In any case, BBK has digitised most customer documents and stored them in their document management system. I am inclined not to believe these allegations.

i am not sure how quoting branches like Yaya and Muthaiga and Plaza helps....i have a friend who banks with KCB at their Gigiri branch but I know from experience that they have other branches that leave a lot to be desired....it seems client location matters more than the client

Have you got loads of money there? Hope the day your going for a tender is not the day you discover your account is blocked.

Try paying some schoolfees.

Better still, visit a branch and see if all is well. If you dont get people yelling............

I belong to competition, i think these allegations are unwarranted attacks, an overreaction by a disgruntled customer and more so far fetched. In as far as bbk has mishandled customers documents, two wrongs don't make a right. For me, by blocking accounts due to incomplete documentation, it makes them more credible. It enables the bank to know it's customers, It energizes the fight against fraud, tax evasion, antimoney laundering and terrolism financing, or what would you rather, find an empty account or a blocked account?. Crime thrives in the unkown. It is what distinguishes real banks from jua kali ones. They protect their reputation at all costs. If you are not satisfied with a banks services, the most honourable thing is to close your account and move on. There are more than a dozen banks, and you soon realize who between you and your previous bank was difficult.
