This whole episode is going to make the western world more isolated. I was not surprised to see China and Russia vetoing a motion on Syria the other day. The UN is going to be a more difficult place to do business. The noises about currencies is bound to become louder. Gadaffi was a hero in Africa and Cuba.

[quote=waiter]Time to foot the bill.

France "will strive to play the role of a principal partner in the country where the leaders know they owe us a lot."

"Our involvement was not belated, mediocre or uncertain. And we have nothing to be ashamed of."

Anyone still thinks this was for 'liberating' the poor libyan who was once called a rat or whose relative was killed by Gadaffi?

The second statement is absolutely terrifying. They knew what they wanted from the start and are not even ashamed of it. Apologists need not hide behind the 'Libyan liberation' phrase any more. They have been liberated from using euphemisms.

FundamentAli, I think business at UN will go on as if nothing has happened.

The rats have been liberated. The opinion polls yesterday showed Kenyans' distaste for the west. This has been replicated on wazua and all over FB. It is smallmindedness to think the west has done the right thing for Libya. Even Americans themselves are disgusted by the actions of NTC fighters.

One person Villain is another person's Hero. Gadhafi was not a saint and if personally I was to rate him, he scores above average not only for Libya but also for Africa.

I found this irony on Reuters "The United Nations human rights office called for a full investigation into the death of Muammar Gaddafi and voiced concerns that he may have been executed" Is it the same body whose overall chief was among the first to send 'congratulatory message' for job well done?

What is an individual in all this. Its bigger than an individual, good or bad.

1. The parliament (UN) had passed the decision.

2. The army (NATO) had implemented the decision.

3. Maybe the court (ICC) will implement this investigation?

(With no links, all I have is goodwill in your comments that you are not just posting allegations. It will be bad if you are.)
