What happened in Libya is an invasion. It could never pass for a revolution in a million years. Now Libyans are under the perpetual servitude of NATO. The Red Cross needs to order emergency supplies of knee-pads, for the Libyans will be doing a lot of sucking in the next couple years

It surprises me that there are people who still believe Libya was being liberated.....

Me too!!! You would imagine education would help people think and analyze issues independently but I guess a majority have exported the cramming that got them through school to everything else and they now swallow everything dished to them including by western media whole!

As I asked earlier, how much intelligence does one need to see through this charade? Can it be that easy to brainwash an "educated" individual???

People need to start reading. Not newspapers. Not for the sake of exams or report writing. Read books that provoke you to THINK!!!

i understand that people wish what they don't have, currently Libyans are wishing for domo kaya like Kenya...but for it they must pay the cost, the cost is losing the best country in africa (look at this year's list of attractive destinations to invest in africa - kenya is number 3 ahead of any arabic nation). they will be lured into debt, they will lose their fuel to the western nations that funded this thing, lets watch their HDI, i pity the fate of the black libyans now, remember libya was a secular state - wait and see. I guess all that is worth it if just they can have the opportunity to go shout in the streets and "say any crazy thing you want"

Sad day!!! Yes, I said SAD day. The bloody vultures attacked the only African president, heck, the only president who provided universal free education, medical care, lowest taxes in the world, payments [dividends] from oil proceeds, low food prices, one of the highest literacy rates in the world [Not Africa, World!!] etc. etc.

What was their excuse again? Would an American president or any European leader stand and watch as organized gangs attack police stations and other security installations steal arms and use them to attack government forces?

Was Gadaffi attacking his people before the rebels masquerading as "protesters" started their overthrow process???

Why haven't the US and NATO attacked Israel? How many innocent Palestinians are killed daily by Israeli forces? Israelis bomb apartment buildings full of women and children because they believe one or two so called terrorists live in one of the houses in the apartment building.

And some wazuans still believe this war by the west was to protect innocent Libyans. Seriously? How much intelligence does one need to see through this facade? There are no innocent Syrians? Innocent Palestinians?

Gadaffi was not threat to anyone. No neighbouring country ever felt threatened. No Libyan community ever felt threatened. Gadaffi was attacked because he couldn't take bullshit from the west like a "good boy". He was just too independent for the liking of the west. He didn't need their money, he didn't take their bullshit, he didn't take instructions from a western capital. He had to go. What if we ended up with 2,3,..5,..20 such presidents in Africa? Something had to be done!

good points...i didn't know he had done so much for his country. If the chain continues, mugabe and M7 do not have a lot of time left in their thrones.....especially after those troops were sent by the americans to fight Kony.

Until kenya hits that black gold jackpot, we might not get any troops from america to support our ar against alshabaab.

You know, i have come to realize Kenyans read opinion pieces and treat them like facts. Reading newspapers ONLY doesn't constitute intellectual nourishment......

Old pirates, yes, they rob I
Sold I to the merchant ships
Minutes after they took I
From the bottomless pit
But my hand was made strong
By the hand of the almighty
We forward in this generation
Triumphantly
Won't you help to sing
These songs of freedom?
'Cause all I ever have
Redemption songs
Redemption songs
Emancipate yourselves from mental slavery
None but ourselves can free our minds
