I am not sure whether this information will add more sukuma wiki on your plate or add a few units of power to your meter . But is good to know:
Did you know that Jomo Kenyatta was born in Machakos in a family that has Kamba roots that extend many years before colonialism. His early childhood was spent in Ukambani, but he later moved to Gatundu where he was brought up by his uncle. Before colonialism there were no districts. Ukambani was much larger than it is now and reached up to what is now the interior of Kiambu county (especially the drier parts including Ruiru and Juja). His relatives are still found in that part of Machakos. These relatives belong to the Kamba tribe but also retain strong cultural links with the Kikuyu. They have names like Kisoi = gichohi, Nyaa = nyaga, Mutuli = muturi and Ngei = ngegi, Maana = magana . Yes, Johnstone Kamau wa Ngegi was a Kao of the Kitondo clan. His political alias Jomo in Kamba is Nzomo.
This information has never been documented. there is a large part of history that has not been researched nor documented, especially if it is not politically correct. His kamba relatives are found in ngelani and kyanguli sub locations in mutituni location in machakos. These kamba/kikuyus never discuss this matter unless asked.
This place was the nerve centre of the famous protests of 1938 against the colonial cattle destocking policy. Kenyatta who was in London played a big role in highlighting the struggle, to a point it became a subject of debate at the House of Commons. This episode in Kenya’s anti-colonial struggle informed strategies of the better known and by far the more vicious the Mau Mau. Infarct.... residents of this area say that the word Mau Mau was first spoken in these area. it is where the first oathing took place using the kamba' kithitu' ritual. Kenyatta was a frequent visitor to this area (usually unofficially) before and after independence and the last one was like two weeks to his death.
Yes… Jomo Kenyatta was my relative… William Ochieng...Over to you!!!

and if true and factual what does it matter? and if false and inaccurate what does it matter? NKTest!! Speak your truth quietly and clearly; and listen to others, even the dull and the ignorant; they too have their story.

NKTest!! yes it matters in that all tribes in kenya have intertwined history.so tribal hatred /stereotypes are senseless.doing deeper research you will find a luo who has roots in central kenya or riftvalley. so do not judge me by my tribe.mimi ni mkenya kutoka londokwe 2012 is here.Kenya is Ours.Be Part of The Peace Keeping Mission To Protect Our Motherland.Say No To Violence and Tribal Hatred .If you can read this, wewe ni mtu amesoma, usifikirie kama mtu hajaenda shule .Ni Hayo Tu

It doesn't matter.....it may not even be factual “People will believe a big lie sooner than a little one, and if you repeat it frequently enough, people will sooner or later believe it.” ― Walter C. Langer

This is possible. The prominent Waiyaki family claims its patriarch was a Maasai. The Gikuyu community is full of such cases of assimilation. We have so many Kamau and Njoroge Maasai, Dorobo and Kambas within this community.

Everything is possible. Figure out this; The Abatoro people in Western Uganda Claim that in 1880s when their King was exiled in Kenya after resisting the colonialists stayed in an area around Nairobi (Thogoto/Gatundu etc). The king befriended a girl and after some landings the girl became pregnant and Kamau Johnstone born 9 months later. To this date,The Toro kingdom believe Kenyatta is the son of their King. On another note,The kambas are sons and daughters of Wamuyu,Gikuyu and Mumbi's 10th daughter normally referred to as kenda muiyuru. Wamuyu liked had higher affinity for landing gear and when Gikuyu was praying for Ngai (Mwene Nyaga)to send men to marry his daughters,Wamuyu was already pregnant ( believed to be from a maasai moran who was taking care of his fathers cattle). This infuriated Gikuyu and chased away his daughter who went to nearby land with the maasai moran. This is how Kambas came about and their affinity for landing gears still a respected affair to date. He learnt that from Ukambani!

The Kikuyu is an amalgamation of many tribes eg. the extinct: the Ngumba, the Athi, the Dorobo etc that were basically hunter-gatherer communities. Others include the Maa speaking people, tharaka, mbeere, chuka, embu, kamba. Kikuyu is a language, not DNA.
