Cheers @JBlaze. Wow! Very generous of KP!

Very generous indeed. A div was expected, but a bonus has come as a bonus to shareholders Applause

Yap we are not anticipating but am suddened by this uncooth behaviour of our ceo's running to foreign media to report results when there is nothing in the local media, nse website or even their website...however i have confirmed kplc as one of my 5yr hold stocks.

I'm happy with the results, not far from the 15% they projected in Feb 2011, Its a sustainable growth that's why i like it. But why a bonus after doing a rights issue less than a year ago? it will dilute the already diluted shares further. anyway i'll take it, but with more questions than answers.

I just have this eerily feeling KEGN will pay 0.50 cents. as indicated by madam.

Talking about dividends- unga's is 0.75!!!!! yield is 7.5%. mumias' is 0.50!! yield is 7.7%. but no-one is interested.

Dissapointing.

Generally, most of us hold utilities for their defensive nature which includes regular and predictable dividends. Of course one can sell their bonus shares (and create their own dividend). I predict that's precisely what will happen. I therefore do not expect much upside on this share in the next 6 months.

Now, let's see what KenGen comes up with but I would hope they do not follow KPLC's example.
