Someone just suggested that a Mungiki regiment would have done the job.

What do you think?

Pros and cons of using Mungiki in Northern Kenya/Somalia?

Why?

Perhaps I should have said Rift Valley warriors instead?

You choose, both are the same for me.

Why? Al Shabaab isn't a legitimate army either...

Why not use terrorists against terrorists?

Why send decent Kenyan soldiers into dangerous situations?

Mungiki are money hungry extortionist. They would have been bought to join the ranks in Al Shabaab. Remember they bought peace from Moi by threatening to become Muslims.

They can stay and "police" the North. Out of the way they can be managed.

My only issue is conventional armies have struggled historically against the likes of Al Shabaab type terrorists.. Look at the US, USSR etc. I just pray for our troops safety.

It would have been easier to scarifies mungikis and other various jeshis.

BTW while we are at it,one half of the coalition govt has not said anything about this war(I hope they were consulted). Also if this war continues deep into 2012,it might mean no elections because of the war.mmmmh just thinking aloud.d'oh!
Hope is not a strategy

...you guys amaze me at times, war aint something that needs directions from left right and centre, thought you knew that much, the PM had suggested al shabaab be attacked way back in January, now is not the time for everyone to issue war statements, you forget the CIC hajaongea!!!
